Poll: 59% of Americans Want All, Most Abortions Illegal Yesterday’s Gallup poll on abortion had most of the media focus on the fact that the number of Americans declaring themselves “pro-choice” had fallen to a record low. But the poll also offered more good news for the pro-life side — most Americans want most abortions made illegal. The Gallup survey indicated fifty-nine percent of Americans say abortion should be illegal in most or all circumstances. The poll found 39 percent said abortion should be legal only in a few circumstances and 20 percent said it should be illegal in all circumstances, for a total of 59 percent who want all or most abortions illegal. By contrast, 25 percent said abortion should be legal in all circumstances and 13 percent said it should be legal in most circumstances. That’s a mere 38 percent, less than four in ten Americans, who say all or most abortions should remain legal.

Majority Oppose Forcing Religious Groups to Fund Birth Control A majority of Americans, in a new Rasmussen Reports national poll, oppose the Obama HHS mandate, which requires religious groups to pay for birth control and abortion-causing drugs for their employees. The latest telephone survey finds that 51% of likely voters do not believe the government should require churches or other organizations to provide contraceptives if it violates their deeply held religious beliefs.

Top Bishop: Obama Mandate “Strangling” the Catholic Church A botched abortion patient can be heard moaning in obvious distress during newly-obtained recordings of two 911 calls placed on Saturday, March 31, 2012. The calls originated from Abortion and Contraceptive Clinic of Nebraska, run by LeRoy Carhart in Bellevue, a suburb of Omaha. The recordings and witness statements indicate that Carhart may be breaking the Nebraska ban on late-term abortions after 20 weeks.

Aborted Child Born Alive, Left to Die; Obama Was Okay With That In Vietnam, a family is distraught because their child was born alive, covered in blankets by the hospital, and left to die. In a twisted scenario where one bad decision led to even worse results, the parents had been convinced to abort their child after seeing ultra-sounds that showed troubling birth defects. After the abortion, the child was placed in a bed under blankets until the family could return to recover the body. But upon returning and removing the blankets, family members saw the child and realized the ultrasounds had been wrong—the child had been born healthy. Moreover, the child was still alive. However, the child had been bleeding profusely, and although the hospital immediately began working to save the child’s fleeting life, in the end nothing could be done to save it.

Second Obama Term Could Bring Back Partial-Birth Abortion One of the top reasons pro-life advocates give for wanting to defeat President Barack Obama in the November elections is the impact the abortion advocate could have on the Supreme Court. But what would a second Obama term and more Supreme Court appointments to go along with abortion supporters Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor look like? Carol Tobias puts that in perspective, saying she worries partial birth abortions — banned by Congress and upheld by the Supreme Court during the administration of President George W. Bush — could make a comeback.

Parents Reject Abortion of One Twin, Save Both Babies Last night I came across an interview with Mr. and Mrs. Ryman, parents of Byron and Lincoln Ryman, two sweet, relatively healthy identical twin boys. Their story is too precious not to share. Mrs. Ryman’s pregnancy was far from easy. After she finally got pregnant through in vitro fertilization, it was discovered that the babies were not growing at the same rate, due to twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. Byron was getting most of the nutrition and was three times the size of Lincoln.

Planned Parenthood Targets Teens Without Parental Knowledge Planned Parenthood (PP) is, at this moment, leading teens in the Memphis area in talks about sex education. PP Greater Memphis Region is hosting a Teen Clinic today in honor of National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month, describing it as a “special day of activities, learning opportunities and Q&A for teenagers.” The children, ages 13-18, will be told about puberty, pregnancy, contraception, and STD prevention. What they aren’t talking about is depression prevention, divorce prevention, and delinquency prevention – all results of early sexual activity. And their parents may not even know they are at PP.

Congress to Vote on Sex-Selection Abortion Ban Next Week The House of Representatives will consider the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act, a bill to ban sex-selection abortions, next week. PRENDA was introduced by pro-life Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) and was approved by the House Judiciary Committee on February 16. Majority Leader Eric Cantor announced today that Republicans have scheduled time for a debate and vote on the bill next week, on Wednesday, May 30. Because H. R. 3541 will be considered on the Suspension Calendar, a two-thirds majority will be necessary for passage. With the international focus on Chen Guangcheng, the Chinese forced abortion opponent who recently escaped house arrested and was allowed to leave China for the United States after being jailed, beaten and confined to his home for exposing massive forced abortion campaigns, the bill is well-timed.

Shock: British Teens Have as Many as Seven Abortions New figures from the British government show hundreds of teenagers in the U.K. are having multiple taxpayer-funded abortions with three who had several government-funded abortions before their 20th birthday. The Daily Telegraph newspaper obtained official NHS figures using a Freedom of Information Act request and determined that two teenage girls had their seventh abortion in 2010, the most recent year during which the government has figures. Another four teenage girls had six abortions paid for at taxpayer expense.

Neonatology Professor: Unborn Babies Feel Pain at 20 Weeks The Subcommittee on the Constitution of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee recently held a hearing on legislation that would ban abortions in the District of Columbia after 20 weeks fetal gestation, based on the ability of the fetus to experience pain at that point and beyond. The legislation, “The District of Columbia Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” H.R. 3803, is based on medical and scientific findings that the unborn child at 20 weeks and beyond is capable of feeling pain, and may even be more sensitive to pain at that point than newborns are.

Senate Democrats Vote to Fund Abortions at Military Hospitals< Democrats in the Senate Armed Services Committee, yesterday, voted to add a provision to the 2013 defense authorization bill, that forces taxpayers to fund abortions at U.S. military base hospitals. A separate provision prohibits the use of DOD funds for abortion except to save the life of the mother.

Robert Hosty ran the A-1 Women’s Center abortion clinic in Queens, New York, but has had his license revoked following complains made by a pro-life group. Operation Rescue staff filed a complaint against him for the death of Alexandra Nunez, a 37-year old single mother of four. The state of New York, on February 6, 2012, issued a revocation order yanking his license that is only now coming to light.

Former LFO Member Brad Fischetti Now a Pro-Life Activist Since yesterday liberal websites have been aghast at the news former Lyte Funky Ones boy band member Brad Fischetti (on the far right in photo) is now a pro-life activist. LFO was a pop/hip hop group that had several hits between 1998-2002, the most prominent of which were “Summer Girls,” “Girl on TV,” and “Every Other Time.” In 2009 Fischetti announced the band’s break-up on YouTube. And then something obviously happened in Fischetti’s life to bring him to where he is today, as chronicled by Buzz Feed’s lament.

Top Ten Things Pro-Life Youth Can Do This Summer This summer is the 40th summer of legalized child killing in America under Roe vs. Wade. This marks one full generation of children who have faced a summer in which it was legal for their parents to have them killed during the first nine months of their life. Don’t let this historical summer go by without taking action and being a voice for those who cannot speak up for themselves! Don’t sit idly by without being a part of the generation who ultimately abolishes abortion. This is the summer for action. This is the summer for passion. This is the summer we as a generation turn the corner and serve notice to the abortion industry that this holocaust WILL BE STOPPED.

Abortion Denies Too Many Fathers a Right to Father’s Day The upcoming celebration of Father’s Day is a fitting time to examine the irony that in our current culture, fatherhood is rarely mentioned. When mentioned at all, fathers are mocked or portrayed negatively. Some movies and stories downplay the role of the father in a child’s life, yet simultaneously portray the child as suffering from the father’s inability to live up to that role.

Post-Partisan Evangelicals Should Engage in the Pro-Life Cause It’s that time again — the time when the younger evangelical generation surveys our damaged nation, observes the terrible reputation of leading evangelical “culture warriors” in the pop culture and with their peers, and says, “You guys blew it. It’s time for a new approach, for a post-partisan approach.

The study found that the Guttmacher methodology is not only unsound scientifically, but unprofessional. According to the authors Guttamcher did not only obtain estimates that are empirically impossible through unsound methodology, but they failed to validate their numbers with estimates that are readily attainable through tested and established epidemiological methods.
