Obama Admin Sends $3.1 Million More to Planned ParenthoodAfter reaching an agreement to send more than $1 million over three years to a Planned Parenthood in Tennessee, the Obama administration has awarded $3.1 million in federal funds to Planned Parenthood affiliates in New Jersey. read more

Romney “Makes VP Decision,” Possible Announcement This WeekRepublican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, according to a New York Times report issued today, has reportedly made his decision about his vice-presidential running mate. The Times indicates the pro-life presidential hopeful could announce his selection as early as this week.
“Mr. Romney has reached a decision, his friends believe, and he may disclose it as soon as this week,” the Times reports. UPDATE: Later in the day, Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom told reporters at a fundraiser in Baton Rouge, Lousiana, according to Politico, “No decision’s been made on VP.” He added Romney did not discuss his selection with Gov. Bobby Jindal. read more

Planned Parenthood Prez: “We Worked with Obama for Three Years”
The Planned Parenthood abortion business has enjoyed a cozy relationship with President Barack Obama and his administration. Planned Parenthood has received millions in taxpayer funds, thanks to Obama, and its president has been a frequent visitor to the White House. Now, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards is admitting just how close the relationship has been. “I’ve been working with this administration for the last three years on getting women better health care access in a whole host of ways,” Richards says in a new interview with National Journal. Interestingly, the web site cuts off the rest of what Richards says before quoting her as saying Obamacare and its abortion funding components “is the single most important opportunity to expand women’s health care access in this country that we will ever see.” read more

Garry Trudeau, Huffington Post, Get Planned Parenthood AwardsPlanned Parenthood handed out their media awards last week and the abortion business presented the 2012 Maggie Awards for Media Excellence in eight categories to journalists, bloggers, and political cartoonist Garry Trudeau “for their exceptional coverage” [read support] of abortion. The awards luncheon was hosted by Joan Walsh, editor at large for Salon.
“This year, we’ve seen the continuation of serious legislative attacks on reproductive health care in states all across the country,” said PPFA president Cecile Richards. “We honor these journalists today for highlighting the devastating impact of these attacks and enhancing the public’s understanding of reproductive rights and health care issues.” read more

The Economic Effect of Abortion: Billions and Billions Lost As we all know, there are so many effects that abortion has on our society and the whole world. What seems to be overlooked is how abortion can hurt the economy. People make the mistake that abortion is solely a moral issue, and therefore cannot be related to the effects of the economy.
In the United States, we have a national debt nearing $16 trillion, which has surpassed the nation’s annual GDP. In other words, our federal government is spending beyond our means. Since abortion was legalized in 1973 by Roe v. Wade, over 50 million babies have died, with over 3,000 killed on a daily basis. read more

Judge Dismisses Major Lawsuit Against Obama HHS MandateA federal judge has dismissed the lawsuit filed by attorneys general of several states against the Obama HHS mandate that requires to religious employers to pay for or refer women for abortion-causing drugs and birth control in violation of their religious liberties. U.S. District Judge Warren Urbom of Lincoln, Nebraska dismissed the case the state attorney general there filed with several other colleagues from across the nation. he said the states did not have standing in court to bring the lawsuit against the Obamacare HHS mandate. read more

Report: Pro-Lifers Jindal, Pawlenty, Portman Top Romney VP ListSpeculation about which vice-presidential candidate Republican hopeful Mitt Romney will select to run with him against pro-abortion President Barack Obama has reached a fever pitch in recent weeks.
A new report from Reuters claims three pro-life elected officials top the Romney list, despite the fact that campaign officials say no decision has been made and that political pundits are making cases for other possible selections. read more

House Committee to Vote Wednesday on 20-Week Abortion Ban
Consideration of H.R. 3803, the D.C. Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act was scheduled in the Judiciary Committee last week, but was postponed. Now, the panel will vote on the measure Wednesday afternoon, when it will likely approve it and send it to the full House floor. The vote follows a new poll released today by the National Right to Life Committee and commissioned by the Polling Company. The poll found 63% of all respondents, and 70% of women respondents, favor banning abortion after the point where the unborn child can feel pain. Another 58% of all respondents, and 62% of women respondents, would be more likely to vote for a Member of Congress who votes to ban abortion after 22 weeks gestation in the District of Columbia. read more

Abortion Doc: Stop Using Terms Baby and Unborn Child, They’re CellsProgressives are masters at changing the definitions of words either to hide or push an agenda. The issue of abortion is no different.
In a new piece by George Lakoff called The Sacredness of Life and Liberty, Lakoff teaches progressives that they shouldn’t be using terms like baby or unborn child to describe “cells” in the womb. Lakoff also rails against the Texas GOP for daring to use the words pain or victim to describe the condition of the unborn child cells during abortion. Planned Parenthood Sues Arizona to Stop De-Funding The Planned Parenthood abortion business has sued the state of Arizona after its pro-life governor, Jan Brewer, signed a pro-life bill that would prevent taxpayer funding of it.  The Whole Woman’s Health Funding Priority Act of Arizona (HB 2800) de-funded abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood of state family planning money. The bill is based on model legislation developed by the SBA List and the Alliance Defense Fund, and prioritizes family planning funds away from abortion-centered businesses like Planned Parenthood to entities that provide women with comprehensive health care. read more
