Planned Parenthood video promotes sadomasochism

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING LINKED VIDEO IS NOT FOR CHILDREN!
by Rita Diller, STOPP Report: Is there any perversion Planned Parenthood will not present to young, vulnerable people as “play”? Judging from the home page of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, apparently not. The “healthcare” organization features a video storehouse known as “A Naked Notion with Laci Green,” by sporting a picture of a young lady flagging a condom.

Click the link to watch the videos, and you will be greeted by “Getting Kinky—BDSM 101,” an instructional rave created in partnership with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England that attempts to make sadomasochism sound like a harmless, pleasant romp in the park.

'Don't worry kids, BDSM is just harmless
adventurous fun! Just remember to have
'safe' words for when the torture
becomes too painful!'
Laci states in her perky, lilting voice that October was declared National Kink Month, “and when you think about it, October and kink—they’re kind of a fitting pair,” she says. “Halloween and kink are both about adventure and fun and exploring roles and dynamics that are maybe a little bit different from everyday life.”

The video flashes to a pair of handcuffs, and the query, “What is BDSM?” Laci explains that BDSM stands for bondage and discipline, domination and submission, and sadism and masochism. “It consists of intentionally designed scenarios called a scene where two people play out pleasurable acts that they’ve previously negotiated, called play,” she says.

But the dictionary makes no such distinction about previous negotiation or play when defining sadism. Merriam-Webster defines sadism as: “(1) a sexual perversion in which gratification is obtained by the infliction of physical or mental pain on others; (2)(a) delight in cruelty; (b) excessive cruelty.”

That’s a far cry from negotiated fun, yet Planned Parenthood blatantly promotes it as pleasurable play. And its obvious target is young and otherwise vulnerable people.

“The pain at play with sadomasochism is not like breaking a bone or getting beat up,” Laci explains. “It’s about the strategic use of bodily sensations to elicit pleasure.”

She then sets out to normalize this horrific, dangerous perversion by saying that some people believe that those who participate in BDSM are emotionally scarred or were once abused. She states that this is “not true; it’s a total myth. People across the spectrum with various backgrounds participate in BDSM. The pain as exhilaration concept is not only old as dirt, it’s pretty common, even outside the bedroom.” She then compares sadomasochism to a runner’s high and the “intense euphoria” that results. “Kinda the same thing going on,” she says.

“The idea of using power and control and pain in a set scene understandably sets off alarms in some people’s heads,” she says. “They hear that BDSM involves spanking and pain and torture . . . scary stuff. With no further knowledge it’s easy to conflate BDSM with abuse.”

“But BDSM and abuse are actually very different,” Laci says. She continues,
BDSM is about a consensual power exchange. Abuse is not. BDSM is negotiated and agreed upon before anything happens. Abuse is not. BDSM has rules, limits, and boundaries that are respected by all parties. Abuse does not.

If your head is reeling just imagining how these people who have consented to being bound and tortured are going to be respected by their “non-abusers” who are torturing them—and how respect and pre-negotiation are going to cause the torturer to limit his torture in wake of sexual stimulation—your head may well explode when you hear Laci’s next statement.

“BDSM relies upon and creates trust.” Yes, she really said that. “Abuse destroys trust,” she continued.

Next she sets out “the rules” that will ensure that BDSM remains equivalent to a runner’s high. Of course, in Planned Parenthood style, the first rule is to “negotiate safer sex”—that is, prevent STDs and pregnancies.

Rule 2 is setting boundaries. Using a “yes, no, maybe” chart is suggested as a tool. As we all know, those “maybe” boundaries are really helpful in all dangerous situations.

Laci continues, “Rule 3: Because saying stop, don’t, or no is sometimes part of the scene, partners practicing BDSM must agree on a safe word that’s easy to remember.”
Rule 4 is follow-up after a “scene,” “sometimes called after-care.” It’s all about sharing feelings after doing something really intense that may bring up some difficult feelings. Cuddling is suggested.

Rule 5 is consensual respect. “Safe, sane, and consensual power exchange relies on unyielding respect for each other’s boundaries.” It’s all about following the rules, she says.

And since this is a YouTube video, at its conclusion the viewer is treated to a variety of sadistic video options for his or her personal consumption. . . .  If [students] end up on this Planned Parenthood website, the results could be beyond devastating.  This is Planned Parenthood. This is the organization that gets $1.3 million taxpayer dollars every day of the year to perpetuate its agenda.

This video and the others in the Naked Notion storehouse proudly bear the banner “In partnership with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.” The PP logo appears on the browser tab as the videos are viewed.

What more do we need to know? Planned Parenthood is not a healthcare organization. It is the nation’s largest abortion chain. It is a seminal source of the most unbelievably perverse and dangerous sex promotion in the nation. And it has access to the eyes, ears, minds, and hearts of our children on a daily basis, whether on their smart phones, computers, or in person in their schools. It is time to stop the madness. We must defund Planned Parenthood, and we must do it without delay.

Our Wednesday STOPP Report archives are brimming with information about Planned Parenthood’s horrendous targeting of our children. Visit our website today to learn more and to find out how to stop the blight on our communities that is Planned Parenthood.

Employees Paying the Price for Obama Admin’s HHS Mandate The Obama Administration is seeking to impose its moral views on the owners of all businesses in the context of Obamacare’s Free Birth Control Rule. Hobby Lobby is a large chain of arts and crafts stores, owned by devout Christian family members, who refuse to be complicit in abortion (not birth control). Federal courts–and now, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor–have refused to protect the company with an injunction against enforcement of the rule, this even though other similarly situated companies and business owners have been so protected pending trials. Study claims tele-medicine (webcam) abortions may lower complications - Reproductive Research Audit - The American Journal of Public Health has preliminarily released an electronic version of Changes in Service Delivery Patterns After Introduction of Telemedicine Provision of Medical Abortion in Iowa, a study which examines the effect that offering webcam-advised prescriptions for abortion pills has had on both the number of abortions and the demographics of women seeking abortions in Iowa. Daniel Grossman leads four other authors in this study, which employs a questionable unit of analysis and unsupported conclusions- namely that “Recent legislation to ban telemedicine abortion may adversely affect public health by preventing women from accessing abortion earlier in pregnancy, when it is safer.” Read More

Can a man die twice? The problem with 'brain death' - Phillip F. Judge: Oklahoma can end Planned Parenthood deals - Times Union - A federal judge on Monday denied a request by Planned Parenthood to temporarily block Oklahoma from terminating a contract with the agency to provide nutritional services to low-income mothers. U.S. District Judge Stephen Friot ruled that although the state's stated reasons don't seem to be sufficient cause for ending agreements with Planned Parenthood's three Tulsa-area clinics that have been in place for 18 years, the group's response to the state's concerns was insufficient enough to warrant ending the relationship. The decision will likely mean that the group will have to close one of the clinics and eliminate six full-time staff positions when the contracts end on Dec. 31, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland's President and CEO Jill June said in a statement. Read More

Federal Judge Blocks Missouri Birth Control Exemption Law

REUTERS — A federal judge on Friday blocked a new Missouri law that requires health insurers to offer plans that exclude contraception coverage if employers or individuals object to birth control on moral or religious grounds.

U.S. District Judge Audrey Fleissig granted a temporary restraining order preventing the enforcement of the law, writing that it appears to conflict with the new federal health care law.
Republican lawmakers in Missouri drafted the law in response to President Barack Obama's policy of requiring insurers to cover birth control for free as part of the new federal health care law, even if they work for a church or other employer that has a moral objection.

. . . .  The Missouri Insurance Coalition, a nonprofit whose members include health insurers that do business in the state, asked the judge to block the state law, arguing that it conflicts with federal law and is therefore invalid.

Fleissig wrote that the coalition is likely to succeed on that claim "given what appears to be an irreconcilable conflict" between the federal and state laws.

At a hearing, the judge wrote, the Missouri Department of Insurance "could offer no response to how there would not be a direct conflict" between the federal and state laws if an insurer offered a health insurance plan "that acquiesced to an employer's decision not to offer contraceptive coverage." . . .  [Read More]

Planned Parenthood Gives Up Stopping 72-Hour Abortion Waiting Period The Planned Parenthood abortion business has given up trying to stop a 72-hours abortion waiting period in the South Dakota, in what is the longest abortion waiting period on abortion in the country. The law in question, which has been embroiled in a legal battle since passage, would require women considering an abortion to visit a crisis pregnancy center before going to an abortion business to get counseling on abortion’s alternatives as well as the risks associated with having one. The idea behind the bill — which goes further than legislation in other states — is to get women tangible pregnancy help and support that they won’t normally find at an abortion center. The counseling would not require any out of pocket expense on behalf of the women considering an abortion. Read More

Welcome the Little Children With Adoption, Like Joseph Did Jesus Recently, Dr. Russell Moore visited FRC to present a lecture on adoption. He reminded us of a very important adoption story we often fail to consider – the adoption of Jesus by his earthly father, Joseph. He recounted the verse in James that tells us that true religion is caring for orphans and widows in their distress (James 1:27). Joseph made a choice to put that true religion into practice when he decided to care for and protect Mary and her son, Jesus. The Bible records two lineages of Jesus, one from Mary and one from Joseph. Thus, Jesus became Joseph’s actual son, just like every child who is adopted today becomes the true child of the parents who adopt him. As Dr. Moore stated, adoption creates a real relationship. Ethics Debate: Does Human Exceptionalism Rely on God? I have long argued that human exceptionalism–the unique and intrinsic moral importance and value of us–does not depend on the existence of the soul or reliance on God. Many of the differences between humans and all other known life are moral in nature, not merely biological. Hence, hawks have exceptional eyesight, but that is merely biological, as is our bipedalism. On the other hand, we (as just one example), are–whether due to random evolution, creation, of intelligent design–the only known moral agents. It is in our very natures to so be, and those of us who aren’t are either too immature for the moral natures to have fully expressed, or are injured or disabled in some capacity. That is a distinction with a moral difference. Read More

Being a Christian Can Cost You - Consider Tim Tebow

Dr. Bill Smith, Editor: Yesterday, Christians celebrated Christmas the birth of Christ. Christians will then in a few months focus attention on remembering the end of His life when Christ was crucified both because of mankind's sin -- which includes our sin. We glorify in the fact that we accepted God's gift when we repented of our sin and accepted God's gift atonement for our sin through the death of his Son.

However, the lost world does not see it as we do. And some people pay a more prominent price for their Christian walk because God has lifted these people up as examples. The truth is that all Christians are hated by the World. However, we often think we are escaping this hatred by hiding our "light under a bushel" and not rocking the boat or not upholding Christian principles. Modern American Christians often believe they can go to Church, pray and avoid controversy by leaving the Church, our Christian family, behind us and compromising our principles and beliefs to get along in the rugged world and thus hide having the "mark of the Lion" -- Jesus Christ -- on our life.

The below article is an example of persecution of one individual written by a fellow Christian noting a bias against the person. And, being a Christian is not even the focus of the article. But for those of us who are Christians and listening to the Holy Spirit, we can garner the truth of what is happening to this individual. My questions for you are: What are Christians willing to do about this? Do they seek to hide and join with the pack in tearing down this individual in the name of sports or their favorite team? Or, are they willing to pray and lift this person up as God uses him to reflect glory of God even in the world of sports -- the modern arena of our times? Consider these questions as you read the following article.

What have they got against Tim Tebow now?
Christian quarterback faces sudden firestorm of scathing comments
Tim Tebow

By Drew Zahn, WorldNet Daily: He’s become an upstanding hero to millions of young football fans, a fierce competitor on the field and a celebrated philanthropist off the field – just the kind of public figure analysts love to … hate?

New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow’s feats and foibles on the gridiron have been an endless source of debate for football fans since he was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the first round three years ago – as has his public commitment to both Christianity and abstinence before marriage.

But the debates and the criticism reached new heights this week after reports leaked out that the man portrayed as a consummate teammate got into an argument with his coach over being passed over in the lineup for a third-string quarterback.

Tebow has spent most of his first season with the Jets on the bench, backing up starting QB Mark Sanchez, while seeing only a few plays per game in the team’s gimmick “Wildcat” package and – oddly enough – on the punt team. In interviews, Tebow has repeatedly said he’d do whatever the team needed to win.

But when the poorly performing Sanchez – who has suffered a miserable year and a losing record – was finally benched 16 weeks into the season, Jets Coach Rex Ryan passed over Tebow to name the third-string quarterback the starter instead.

According to reports and rumors, the typically unflappable Tebow got into an argument with Ryan and told his coach he didn’t want to be just a gimmick-play player, but taken seriously as a quarterback.

Analysts long critical of Tebow pounced.

CBS New York analyst Peter Schwartz penned a ferocious column called “Tebow Turned out to Be a Phony.”

“Tebow’s ‘I’ll do whatever I can to help the team’ pledge from the day that the Jets acquired him turned out to be nothing but utter nonsense,” Schwartz opined. “Tebow is not the good teammate that we all thought he was, and now it seems as if reports about him being a bad apple in the locker room are true. What does it say about someone, who has captivated the world with his religious faith, doesn’t want to be a part of the game plan to help his team win?”

ESPN analyst Merril Hoge was equally critical, calling Tebow “as phony as a three-dollar bill.”

He then took his comments to criticism of Tebow’s play: “Here’s what happened in New York. They didn’t realize how bad Tim Tebow was. Once he came in there and they got to see the sampling, they’re like, ‘Oh, my gosh.’ Not only can he not play quarterback, he’s not really a good football player.”

Video of an ESPN segment featuring both recap of the situation and Hoge’s comments can be seen below:
Tebow has faced similar criticism throughout his NFL career, even though the former Heisman Trophy winner enjoyed one of the most successful college football careers in history, topped off with leading his Florida Gators to two national championships.

Peyton Manning, the quarterback who replaced Tebow with the Broncos, called Tebow “the greatest college football player ever.”

Yet Tebow’s career as a professional player has been constantly dogged by criticism.

Tebow’s success in college and immediate splash in the NFL – his jersey sales, as a rookie, immediately topped all veteran players in the league – quickly painted a target on his back for critics who sneered at his popularity.

The formerly homeschooled son of missionaries also became a media sensation for his devotion to – and public displays of – his faith, which frequently becomes fodder for critics’ more biting comments.

Few, however, fail to acknowledge Tebow’s frequent acts of philanthropy and kindness. From befriending ill children and bringing them to his games to founding a hospital for orphans in the Philippines, Tebow has been a paragon of professional athletes giving back to the community.

Schwartz concluded his diatribe with praising Tebow’s charity before getting in one, final jab.

“Let’s not discount how charitable Tebow has been, especially with children, and how important he has been for those who also follow in his faith,” Schwartz wrote, “but we’re talking about a football player here.

“He’s a football player with a huge national following and someone who has been a winner in high school, college and one magical year in the NFL with the Broncos,” Schwartz concluded. “But now, it’s very apparent that since coming to the Jets, all he’s been is a loser and a phony.”

Former Reagan Cabinet member William Bennett, however, penned a column for CNN last year in which he claimed many critics – and he singled out Hoge by name – are only “pretending” to criticize the football player, when their real problem with Tebow is the man himself.

“Tebow is a role model for sports fans everywhere. But instead of lifting him up, too many commentators, critics and even fellow athletes mock and deride him and hope that he fails,” Bennett wrote. “There is always room for healthy criticism in sports, especially at the quarterback position, but Tebow is subject to something uglier. Sportscasters love to take extra shots at Tebow; take Merril Hoge, who at one point tweeted, ‘It’s embarrassing to think the Broncos could win with Tebow!’

“Critics have a problem with who Tebow is as a man,” Bennett said. “They are bothered by his faith, character and conviction. Jake Plummer, former Broncos quarterback, said in a recent interview, ‘I wish he’d just shut up.’ They tell him to take his ‘holier than thou’ faith off the field.

“Too many in our culture deride good men such as Tebow because they make them feel uncomfortable,” Bennett wrote. “These same critics believe the Aha! theory of human behavior. This theory assumes that the real character of a person is always base and hidden from the eye and that all good actions are a front for ulterior and bad or low motives. Aha! Tim Tebow, you say you’re Christian, but we know it’s a facade for sympathy and attention. You’re just like the rest of us.”

Bennett concluded the world needs more men like Tewbow, “the type of men many fathers would want their daughters to marry and many mothers would want their sons to grow up to be.”

Regardless of why the critics are so quick to sneer, Tebow’s time in New York is reportedly coming to an end. Whispers around the NFL from various reporters indicate the Jets are likely to release or trade Tebow, offering him to opportunity to play for his third team in four years in the league.

Have A Wonderful Christmas Eve 2012

Wishing you a very joyous Christmas Eve.

Please enjoy the following video with a beautiful version of "Holy Night" by Celtic Woman [As of this post over [9,141, 323 views]:

"O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night, O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night, O night divine!

Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
O night, O Holy Night, O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night, O night divine!"

Pro-Life Catholic Group Wins HHS Mandate Exemption in Court In another victory for pro-life advocates challenging the pro-abortion HHS mandate in Obamacare, a pro-life Catholic group has won a legal battle in court to get an exemption from having to comply with the mandate. The new mandate compels religious employers to pay for and refer employees for birth control, abortion-causing drugs and contraception in violation of employers’ religious beliefs. Read More

Heart Surgery Before Birth Saves Unborn Baby’s Life Here is a heartwarming story that is sure to lift your spirits this Christmas time. The baby’s mother discovered during earlier stages of pregnancy that the baby’s heart was not properly developing. Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz Pitches Donations on Christmas Eve While the rest of the nation eagerly awaits the celebration of the birth of the Savior, Jesus Christ, the Planned Parenthood abortion business took the occasion of Christmas Eve to send out a fundraising donation. The Planned Parenthood Federation of America sent the email fundraising pitch under the headline “What really matters.” Apparently the birth of Christ pales in comparison to making sure the nation’s biggest abortion business has enough money to keep its clinics operating and it abortion advocacy lobbying going full steam. A Baby vs. the World: God’s Strategy for Overcoming Evil A Christmas message came to my mind a few years ago as I stood shivering in the autumn chill at the grave side of Father Jerzy Popieluszko. His theme was always the same: The Christian is called to defend the truth and overcome evil with good. Read More

Christmas: Jesus Christ is a Light in the Dark Times Every year the week before Christmas, St. Peter’s Church in Purcellville, VA hosts a “Blue Christmas” service. The aim is to offer a message of hope and comfort to those who might not be feeling so holly jolly during the holidays. Heaven knows, there are many reasons to feel blue this Christmas. From the senseless, tragic loss of innocent life in New Town, CT, to the seemingly intractable political divide paralyzing our nation’s capital, to the escalating tensions in the Middle East. It would be easy to give in to feelings of hopelessness, to let the long and dark December nights lull us into a mood of depression and despair. Read More

Atheist Attacks on Christmas

Phyllis Schlafly
by Phyllis Schlafly, Eagle Forum: Bill O’Reilly asked this question on his Fox News program last week: “Why do I have to be the leader defending Christmas against its attackers?” O’Reilly was criticizing Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee’s renaming his state’s Christmas tree a “holiday tree.”

Good question. It’s time for Christians to realize that their religion is under attack and they had better start fighting to win the war for religious liberty in public opinion, in the courts, and in the schools.

The war against Christianity has been waged by the American Civil Liberties Union, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, and similar groups. Their tactics use the threat of litigation, with the hope that supremacist judges will accept their reinterpretation of the First Amendment as Americans have understood it for over two centuries.

The reelection of Barack Obama has made this issue even more pressing. Throughout his first term, he waged a persistent campaign to secularize America, to push all religion behind church doors, and to ban all mention of religion from every public place, park, building, military facility, school, and speech.

The public schools have become the front line in this battle to banish Christmas from celebrations, songs, and events, and anti-Christmas public school rulings have been accelerating. Here are a few examples.

Pennsylvania fourth graders were prohibited from handing out religious Christmas cards to classmates, Massachusetts ninth graders were told they could not create Christmas cards that depict a nativity scene, a Georgia school board deleted the word “Christmas” from the school calendar, Minnesota middle school kids were disciplined for wearing red and green scarves in a Christmas skit and for ending the skit with wishing all a Merry Christmas, and dozens of schools banned Christmas carols in favor of songs such as Frosty the Snowman and Winter Wonderland.

A New Jersey second-grader was prohibited from singing the pop song “Awesome God” at an evening talent show, and a Colorado school counselor changed the words of the Pledge of Allegiance on the public-address system from “one nation under God” to “one nation under your belief system” (that was, fortunately, overturned). A Massachusetts elementary school censored God from Lee Greenwood’s famous song, changing the line “God bless the U.S.A.” to “We love the U.S.A.”

A first-grade girl in North Carolina wrote a poem for her school’s Veterans Day assembly honoring her two grandfathers who had served in the Vietnam War that included the sentences, “He prayed to God for peace. He prayed to God for strength.” The school censored the word God out of the poem before the kid read it. A Texas high school ordered the football coach not to bow his head or kneel when the team said a prayer before a game.

Cranston High School West in Rhode Island banned a prayer banner that had hung on the auditorium wall for 38 years without complaint. The banner read in part: “Our Heavenly Father, Grant us each day the desire to do our best. … Help us to be good sports and smile when we lose as well as when we win. Teach us the value of true friendship. Help us always to conduct ourselves so as to bring credit to Cranston High West. Amen.”

A Plano, Texas school banned an 8-year-old from handing out candy canes with Jesus’ name on them to classmates at a school holiday party, confiscated a girl’s pencils because they mentioned “God,” and banned an entire classroom from writing “Merry Christmas” on cards to be sent to our troops serving in the Middle East. Litigation followed the action of a Texas high school that tried to forbid cheerleaders from displaying a banner at a football game with the Bible verse: “And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

President Obama is a major part of the campaign to secularize America. For the fourth straight year, Obama again deleted God from his Thanksgiving Day address as he personally read it from the teleprompter into a camera.

Of course, there is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that requires this anti-Christmas nonsense. The purpose of all these actions is to mandate a religion of secularism, which is completely contrary to American history, heritage, and constitutional law.

Christians had better wake up and realize the threat of the secularists to the First Amendment. Our answer to the ACLU and atheist lawyers who are trying to change America should be the favorite words of Scrooge in Charles Dickens’ story, “A Christmas Carol”: “Bah, humbug!”

Pope says future of mankind at stake over gay marriage

Pope Benedict XVI has weighed in on a heated debate over gay marriage, criticising new concepts of the traditional family and warning that mankind itself was at stake.

The Telegraph: "In the fight for the family, the very notion of being – of what being human really means – is being called into question," the Pope said in Italian during an end-of-year speech.

"The question of the family ... is the question of what it means to be a man, and what it is necessary to do to be true men," he said.

The Pope spoke of the "falseness" of gender theories and cited at length France's chief Rabbi Gilles Bernheim, who has spoken out against gay marriage.

"Bernheim has shown in a very detailed and profoundly moving study that the attack we are currently experiencing on the true structure of the family, made up of father, mother, and child, goes much deeper," he said.

He cited feminist gender theorist Simone de Beauvoir's view to the effect that one is not born a woman, but one becomes so – that sex was no longer an element of nature but a social role people chose for themselves.

"The profound falsehood of this theory and of the anthropological revolution contained within it is obvious," he said.

The defence of the family, the Pope said, "is about man himself. And it becomes clear that when God is denied, human dignity also disappears."

On Monday, the Vatican's newspaper described laws on gay marriage as an attempt at a communist-like "utopia", a day after tens of thousands of demonstrators turned out in France to support legalizing both marriages and adoption for gay couples.

France's parliament is to debate the government-backed "marriage for all" bill early next year.

With President Francois Hollande's Socialists enjoying a strong majority, the bill is expected to pass despite vehement opposition from the right and religious groups.

Actions vs Prayers

A good friend of mine, Dr. Shane Knight, co-hosts a morning radio show here in Arkansas. On the Monday after the recent tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, Shane had this interesting question for his listeners: “Why do people vote against their prayers?”

by Curtis Coleman with Nancy Carlton: Think about it. We pray for protection for our children, and then we elect politicians who enact policies that put our kids at risk. Some of the very people who wonder how God could allow a madman to come into a “gun-free zone” and murder 26 people, mostly children, are the same folks who make our schools “helpless victim zones” by refusing to allow armed guards with legal weapons inside schools to provide protection for our children.

We pray for prosperity. Then we elect leaders who overtax us and squander our tax dollars on ill-advised programs that do little good.

We pray for peace. Then we elect a President who antagonizes our allies and coddles our enemies, all while throwing billions of American dollars away on foreign aid to countries that despise us.

We pray for blessings on our nation. Then we let our representatives and judges keep sanctioning the slaughter of millions of innocent unborn children.

We pray for wisdom for our elected officials. Then we stand by and let the unqualified, untrustworthy and sometimes ungodly among us just keep right on winning our most powerful offices.

Does this make sense to you? Would you pray for God to keep your home safe, while you were setting fire to the house?

Well, that’s what we do every time we vote directly in opposition to what we pray. What a difference it would make if our actions lined up with our prayers.

Appeals Court: Obama Admin Can Force Hobby Lobby to Obey HHS Mandate A federal appeals court ruled today that the Obama administration can force the Christian-owned-and-operated business to obey the HHS mandate that compels it to pay for birth control and drugs that may cause abortions for its employees. Earlier this week, a different federal appeals court reinstated two of the top legal challenges to the mandate. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals handed Wheaton College and Belmont Abbey College a major victory in their challenges to the HHS mandate. Previously, two lower courts had dismissed their lawsuits as premature because the Obama administration is expected to revise the mandate next year. However, the appellate court reinstated those cases. Read More

Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz Prez a Texan of the Year Finalist The head of the nation’s biggest abortion giant has been named a finalist for the Texan of the Year by the Dallas Morning News, a newspaper in this large north Texas city. Planned Parenthood Study Claims Abortion Drug Killing Women is “Safe” A new study conducted by researcher James Trussell from Princeton University claims the abortion pill RU 486, mifepristone, is safe. Moreover, the Planned Parenthood abortion business put women at risk by failing to follow FDA guidelines for the proper dispensing of mifepristone. Read More

Planned Parenthood’s Mandate: Obsessed With Income From Abortions In late December of 2010, news was announced regarding Planned Parenthood’s decision to require all affiliates to have at least one abortion center. LifeNews covered the announcement, after it was confirmed by Planned Parenthood in an interview. The article also referred to a dispute with a Texas affiliate with Planned Parenthood. I will admit I was not aware of the news at the time. And besides, at the end of 2010, the start of this mandate, 2013, seemed far off, even if still troubling. Now, however, we have almost approached that time. And as we approach 2013, the mandate is again being picked up by news sources. Read More

Jindal's Witches' Brew: Deconstructing Catholic Teaching

By Judie Brown, American Life League:  It is reported that Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal is a Catholic. Further, it has been said that he is a conservative Republican.

But recently we learned that Jindal is actually a counterfeit Catholic with progressive leanings on the subjects of contraception, women’s rights, and common sense.

In fact, in his latest Wall Street Journal op-ed, which supports the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ call for over-the-counter birth control, Jindal writes without apology:As a conservative Republican, I believe that we have been stupid to let the Democrats demagogue the contraceptives issue and pretend, during debates about healthcare insurance, that Republicans are somehow against birth control. It’s a disingenuous political argument they make.

As an unapologetic pro-life Republican, I also believe that every adult (18 years old and over) who wants contraception should be able to purchase it. But anyone who has a religious objection to contraception should not be forced by government healthcare edicts to purchase it for others. And parents who believe, as I do, that their teenage children shouldn’t be involved with sex at all do not deserve ridicule.
In other words, as a “pro-life” Republican, Jindal supports chemical abortion. How? It is a scientific fact that one of the proven modes of action of the birth control pill is early abortion. Further, the governor supports the freedom of anyone over the age of 18—apparently married or single—who wishes to use contraception to do so as long as those who have religious objections do not have to subsidize it.

But wait a minute. Something is terribly wrong with this picture.

First, let me be clear. No law is ever going to ban genuine contraception—contraception that does not act to abort or have the possibility of aborting. Such a definition does not include the pill, for the pill can cause an early abortion. Thus, at the very least, Jindal should either get his facts straight or stop describing himself as pro-life.

Second, as a Catholic, Jindal should be using his bully pulpit to help Americans understand the truth about these matters rather than attempting to placate his fellow squishes by doing all he can to obliterate facts and evidence from the public debate. Politics aside, the pill harms women; in fact many have even died. His argument, though music to the ears of the culture of death, merely sows more seeds of disinformation where honesty is so badly needed.

Third and most important, the politics of contraception have become the endgame for those quasi-Catholics in political life who do not wish to “mess up” their careers by being consistently Catholic when they address public policy questions dealing with reproductive health—including in vitro fertilization, contraception, and abortion. This is why Jindal’s latest comments received rave reviews from Planned Parenthood.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans, on the other hand, questioned the governor’s statements saying, “We disagree with the governor’s opinion because, as the Catholic Church teaches, contraception is always wrong.”

And that’s the rub. There are facts and there is opinion; there is truth and there is falsehood; there is right and there is wrong. But none of this applies when Catholics in public life defy Catholic teaching as the Catholics bishops look on. The governor is misguided and the archdiocese should have been blunt in its criticism. The archdiocese could have used the Jindal incident as a teaching moment, but instead it stopped short.

As long as Catholics in public life are creating confusion with the apparent permission of the bishops, we are going to see a continuing de-escalation of respect for all that the Church teaches. And while it is clear that many in the Church strive to deconstruct her teaching and water down her truth, there are an equal number of us who will go to our death before we will keep quiet in our defense of Christ and His truth.
