House Votes Next Week on Bill to Completely Ban Taxpayer Funding of Abortions House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said today that the House will vote next week on legislation that will put in place a complete ban on taxpayer funding of abortions and ensures abortions are not directly funded in any federal governmental program or department. The legislation combines several policies that must be enacted every year in Congressional battles and puts them into law where they will not be in jeopardy of being overturned every time Congress changes hands from pro-life lawmakers to those who support abortions. Poll: 62 Percent of Americans Want More Abortion Restrictions A new Marist poll released today on the tragic 41st anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, which allowed virtually unlimited abortions nationwide, shows 62% of Americans want more restrictions on abortion. The Marist University poll, which was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, finds 62% of all Americans support “changing laws to allow for some restrictions on abortion,” while 84 percent of Americans do not support abortion on demand up until the birth of the child.
