“You know, I think abortion is always wrong,” he replied to a question from the Fox News moderator. “I’ve supported a variety of solutions, both state as well as federal. In fact, just last week, I introduced the Life at Conception Act, which would say that the 14th amendment would defend an individual even in the womb.” Read More

Pro-Life Journalists Indicted

Planned Parenthood, Houston, TX |
The grand jury was initially formed to investigate whether a Houston Planned Parenthood clinic had illegally sold fetal body parts. Instead, it cleared Planned Parenthood and somehow ended up indicting the journalists for attempting to illegally purchase baby body parts.
How can someone buy something without a seller? Daleiden faces one year in prison for that alleged offense.

David Daleiden |
The Center for Medical Progress issued a statement denying it broke any laws, saying that it "uses the same undercover techniques that investigative journalists have used for decades in exercising our First Amendment rights to freedom of speech and of the press."
Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion groups are claiming a moral victory, suggesting that the indictments vindicate their work.
Really? Let's roll the tape.
Here's one in which a Planned Parenthood executive talks about how she illegally manipulates abortion procedures so they get the right parts "intact." "I'm gonna basically crush below, I'm gonna crush above, and I'm gonna see if I can get it all intact," the doctor says.
Here's another video featuring a Planned Parenthood executive haggling over the price of aborted tissue and joking that she'd like a Lamborghini.

Supreme Court Won’t Let North Dakota Ban Abortions on Unborn Babies After 6 Weeks
The Supreme Court is refusing to allow the state of North Dakota to ban abortions done on unborn babies after 6 weeks of pregnancy. The high court turned away North Dakota’s appeal of a lower court decision overturning the abortion ban the state legislature approved.
The decision is not surprising given the high court still has a pro-abortion majority that support Roe v. Wade, which allows virtually unlimited abortions throughout pregnancy and essentially prevents states from protecting most unborn children. ...

Snow v. Wade: Marchers Take the Town by Storm
While the rest of the capital braces for a whiteout, thousands of pro-lifers spilled into the D.C. streets convinced that the real state of emergency is our culture. While the federal government, local schools, and area businesses hurried home to beat the blizzard, a generation undeterred by ice or snow continued their pilgrimage to the Supreme Court -- determined to stir the conscience of America and end 43 years of government-sanctioned bloodshed.
In bundled-up babies to busloads of students, this year's March for Life was a powerful reminder that Americans will do whatever it takes to protest the ugly legacy of Roe. "We are very concerned for people's safety and want everyone to be cautious," said a March spokesman. "However, the pro-life community is also concerned for the safety and well-being of the innocent, unborn in the womb." And the U.S. Park Police wasn't going to stand in the way. "This is a First Amendment event," an official told the Washington Post, "and if people want to come and demonstrate, we want them to be able to come say what they have to say." . . Read More

Meet 4 Pro-Life Lawmakers Who Chose to Adopt
![]() |
Rep Tim Huelskamp, R-KS, with his wife Angela and their four adopted children. |
Tim praises those who did, the mothers who gave up their children and “made one of the toughest and most loving choices there is.” When Tim and Angela started their own family, they opted to adopt—first one little girl, then three more children.
It’s not an unusual story. Thousands of American families adopt each year.
But it’s unique because today Tim Huelskamp splits his time between Kansas and Washington, D.C. And it’s remarkable because Huelskamp is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Like Huelskamp, some other members of Congress have opened their homes through adoption. They’ll tell you it’s a blessing but also admit it’s a challenge. And many consider it an opportunity to show a positive alternative to abortion.
“Life is incredibly precious,” Rep. David Schweikert, R-Ariz., says. “The only time I’ve cried in my adult life,” he tells The Daily Signal, is when he first held his adopted baby girl, Olivia.
At 53 years old, Schweikert became a father.
![]() |
Rep. David Schweikert, R-Az, shows off the newest addition to his family. |
That was last month. Since then, Schweikert has learned to juggle public policy while changing diapers, building cribs, and assembling strollers. But though he’s a new dad, he’s not new to adoption.
‘Many Options’
Abortion was still illegal in America when Schweikert’s biological mother, only miles away from the Mexican border, decided not to abort. The teenager turned her car around, choosing to skip the appointment she had in Tijuana.
Months later, in 1962, Schweikert was born in Los Angeles in a home for unwed mothers. Looking back, he says he’s “incredibly blessed.” And he thanks his birth mother for choosing not to end the pregnancy and instead giving him up for adoption.
As an adopted son who became an adoptive father, Schweikert doesn’t downplay the difficulty of an unplanned pregnancy. None of the lawmakers who spoke with The Daily Signal did. But Schweikert also notes that adoption has become easier “in the modern world.”
He explains:
Adoption Caucus
Although there is no official count of how many members of Congress have chosen adoption, broad support exists for the institution on both sides of the aisle. The largest conference of lawmakers in Washington, the Congressional Adoption Caucus, has broad bipartisan support.
The mission of the caucus is “to work for every child to have a safe and loving family.” The group’s partner organization also sponsors an internship program that has placed more than 170 college students, once in foster care, in prestigious internships on Capitol Hill.
But while members offer their support, Rep. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., says many think their work in Congress would keep them from adopting kids.
At 42, Mullin didn’t want to adopt. He already had a young family of three. But his wife Christie kept pushing him about two little girls—twins separated at birth who needed a home.
“Quite frankly, I ran out of excuses,” Mullin says:
To make more time for the kids, the Oklahoma Republican often rolls into meetings and fundraisers with a posse. “Events have to be kid-friendly,” he explains, “or I don’t go.”
![]() |
Rep. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., his wife Christie, and their family. |
And now, Mullin gets inundated with questions—not about policy or politics, but about his family’s experience.
“My wife and I are so amazed about how many people just want to talk about the adoption,” he says. And they’re ready to talk. The couple has met with lawmakers, staffers, even Capitol Hill police.
Mullin’s advice is always the same:
![]() |
Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, with his wife and two boys. |
Now chairman of the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee, Brady says he worries that “adoption is just too expensive for working families.”
In the upcoming effort to overhaul the tax code, Brady says, he’ll be looking for ways to encourage the practice. Nothing’s official, but the tax wonk says his committee will consider an increase in the adoption tax credit.
But it’s when he sets aside spreadsheets and tax policy to talk about his two adopted boys that the big Texan chokes up.
“Adoption doesn’t just change your life,” he says. “It makes your life.”
His voice cracking, Brady explains:

Planned Parenthood Abuses the Law to Stop Dissent
by Andrew Kloster: Last year, a number of academics penned a letter to the Obama administration demanding a criminal RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) investigation into those who disagree with man-made global warming, following the lead of Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.).
As we wrote at the time, this would be an abuse of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations law — a law designed to go after organized crime, such as drug cartels and the Mafia.
Well, as the late, great New York Yankee Yogi Berra once quipped, “it’s déjà vu all over again.”
This time, Planned Parenthood and its affiliates (the nation’s largest abortion provider, which is government-subsidized) are now trying to use RICO to sue various individuals and organizations who helped expose the attempted sale of fetal body parts for cash by various Planned Parenthood employees. Planned Parenthood has denied any wrongdoing.
In case you haven’t seen the video, take a look. What is on that video has spurred Congress to investigate Planned Parenthood and given rise to fresh calls to defund the abortion provider.
But rather than handle what’s actually on the video, Planned Parenthood is suing, claiming, among other things, that the undercover videographers violated RICO and federal wiretapping laws. This is an attempt to divert attention from the horrific and potentially illegal acts of Planned Parenthood.
As in the global warming case, this attempted use of RICO also raises serious First Amendment concerns—all the more so because this use of RICO is specifically targeting media activity.
This use of RICO could backfire, for multiple reasons. . . . Read full article and credits at ARRA News Service

The March for Life and Fighting for the Unborn
by Ken Blackwell (ARRA News Service): It has been more than four decades since the Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade that unborn were of no account. Precious life created in the image of God was treated as but an inconvenience to be removed “on
demand.” A Constitution drafted by those who believed in life and liberty became a license to kill the most helpless and defenseless among us. The ruling greatly accelerated what Pope John Paul II termed the “culture of death.”
Although Roe’s most devastating impact remains the thousands upon thousands of babies never allowed to take their first breath, the high court decision also spurred a generation of liberal judicial activism which has malformed America’s Constitution and system of government. The problem is not energetic judges, but jurists who rewrite rather
than enforce the Constitution. Today the Court acts like a nine-member continuing constitutional convention.
An unwanted pregnancy is a significant burden. The reasons for one are many and the political process is not the place to judge the reasons why. But abortion is not the answer. The consequences are rarely benign for women who abort their babies. Regrets are common, physical problems are real, and psychological harm can be great. The body seems to naturally rebel against efforts to destroy what it has created.
Yet a worse fate is reserved for the child, just months away from independent existence. No one has an obligation to conceive. And contraceptives are widely available. Indeed, the federal government now insists that they must be “free,” paid for by the rest of us. So there’s little reason for an unwanted pregnancy.
However, having created life, none of us, not even the mother, has a right to end it. There’s no need to argue theology about souls and biology about the beginning of life. We all know that starting with a fertilized egg yields a crying newborn nine months later. Once on the continuum of life there’s no excuse for ending it, except in truly
extraordinary circumstances, such as a threat to the life of the mother. It’s fine to talk about choice, but except in the thankfully rare case of rape the choice was to have sex. The issue then is taking responsibility.
There’s something more. Although sometimes promoted in the name of liberation, abortion long has been directed against racial minorities. Indeed, years ago a surprising number of “good ole’ boy” Southern legislators favored legal abortion because they imagined it would be used most by those they saw as undesirables, especially African-Americans.
Liberals today inadvertently follow in the footsteps of the apostles of Jim Crow. For instance, Hillary Clinton insisted that “we need to protect access to safe and legal abortion, not just in principle, but in practice.” She inveighed against the so-called Hyde Amendment, which bars federal funding for abortion, including through Medicaid.
This makes “it harder for low income women to exercise their full rights” to kill their babies, complained Clinton.
Her argument brings to mind Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood—and an enthusiastic eugenicist. These themes never died. In 2009 Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the most fervent liberal on the Supreme Court today, expressed her surprise that her predecessors upheld the Hyde Amendment since she had expected “concern about population growth
and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of” would have led the justices to rule the other way. It’s not hard to imagine who would be most likely to fall into the category of “populations that we don’t want to have too many of.”
Of course, even overturning Roe would not end the abortion debate. That would merely allow states to restrict abortion. A forthright discussion then would ensue over the importance of protecting life, rather than shadow boxing over, say, the safety standards of abortion clinics.
Many states, such as California and New York, are unlikely to restrict abortion. Even there, however, it would be useful to have a serious debate over the issue. Those dedicated to taking the life of the unborn should not be able to hide behind the word “choice.” They should be forced to face the uncomfortable fact that they are making possible the taking of life, especially that of the poor and minorities, who liberals always pretend to be protecting.
The March for Life is a sad occasion, since it marks a low point in American constitutional history. But it also is a moment of hope and triumph, since it shows that people across the country will continue to fight for what’s right, Irrespective of the odds.

March For Life - Friday, Jan. 22, 2016
![]() |
Trivium School (Lancaster, MA) Students at March for Life (2015) |
After more than four decades of marching year after year in the bitter cold and snow, some might ask, "Nothing is changing. Why keep doing it?" Many Americans said the same thing about slavery after the Supreme Court's horrific Dred Scott decision. Thankfully, men and women of faith in 1800s persevered and slavery was abolished.
When it comes to attitudes about abortion today, hearts and minds are changing. A recent poll by the Marist Institute for Public Opinion finds that Americans overwhelmingly reject the extreme abortion-on-demand agenda of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Here are some key findings of the survey:
- 81% of Americans support some restrictions on abortion. Only 12% say a woman should be able to abort her child at any time during her pregnancy.
- 60% of Americans believe abortion is morally wrong.
- 68% of Americans, including 69% of women, oppose the use of taxpayer dollars to fund abortions.
- 61%, support banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy except to save the life of the mother.
We are just one or two Supreme Court appointments away from restoring some legal protections for children in the womb. The stakes in the 2016 election could hardly be greater. Who wins the presidency is literally a life and death decision for millions of unborn babies.

The Pro-Life Vote
by Kerby Anderson (ARRA News Service): Contrary to what many political strategists might think, being pro-life as a candidate can be a winning issue. Marjorie Dannenfelser was on my radio program to explain her recent commentary on why the “pro-life movement is winning the culture—and elections.” Polling statistics, recent elections, and common sense all point to the fact that being pro-life is a winning issue in most campaigns.
The most recent Gallup poll found that a majority of Americans (55%) oppose abortion in all or most circumstances. A CNN poll back in 2014 put that number even higher at 58 percent. Those who promote abortion probably assumed that most Americans would support abortion forty years after the original abortion decision of Roe v. Wade. That has not happened.
The gubernatorial election in Louisiana may have surprised some because the governor-elect (John Bel Edwards) ran as a pro-life Democrat and won. In one TV ad, his wife described how it felt to discover her child had spina bifida at 20 weeks. The couple shared that they rejected the doctor’s suggestion of an abortion.
The governor’s race in Kentucky provides a similar outcome. Republican Matt Bevin defeated the Democratic governor because he focused on social issues like abortion and marriage. He explained to the Washington Post shortly before his victory, that he tried to talk about economics on the campaign trail but voters wanted to hear about Planned Parenthood and religious freedom.
Being pro-life is also a common sense position. Promoters of abortion cannot explain why the United States should be one of only seven countries in the world (including China, North Korea, and Vietnam) where abortion is legal 20 weeks into a pregnancy. Candidates who defend these late-term abortions seem like the extremists.
Marjorie Dannenfelser is correct. The pro-life movement is winning.
