Pro-Abortion Group Will Still Take Money From Harvey Weinstein, Though He Allegedly Raped Women

Pro-abortion groups have shown their willingness to take money from disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein at a time when many other recipients are trying to distance themselves by giving away his donations.

Weinstein, a hugely influential producer known for movies such as “Pulp Fiction,” “Shakespeare in Love,” “The English Patient” and “The King’s Speech,” is facing allegations that he sexually assaulted and harassed multiple women and used his power in Hollywood to cover up the abuse.

He also is a major donor to Democrats and pro-abortion groups. In response to the numerous allegations, a number of Democrats have said they will donate the money they received from Weinstein to charity.

However, pro-abortion groups have either remained silent or welcomed the contributions.

The abortion chain Planned Parenthood received a major donation from Weinstein this spring during its 100th anniversary gala. He paid $100,000 for a piece during its benefit art auction, according to ArtNet News.

Another recipient is Emily’s List, which supports pro-abortion women’s election campaigns.

The Daily Wire reports the Democratic National Committee plans to “redirect” the $30,000 it received from Weinstein to several groups including Emily’s List. Writer Emily Zanotti urged the DNC and Emily’s List to give back the money instead.

. . . Sometimes abusers use abortions to cover up their crimes, making unborn babies second victims in a number of sexual abuse cases. In an Ohio case, a soccer coach was convicted of sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on his team, LifeNews reported. According to reports, he statutorily raped the girl; and when she became pregnant, he took her to Planned Parenthood to abort their unborn baby and cover up what he had done. The Ohio Planned Parenthood also faced a lawsuit for failing to report the sexual abuse of the young girl.

In an Arizona case, officials said another Planned Parenthood center failed to provide the proper report to authorities about a victim of a young man accused of being a serial rapist. Not only did Planned Parenthood fail to report the rape but, in so doing, it allowed the rapist to rape 18 or more teenage girls, authorities said, making it so the abortion company is partially responsible for victimizing them as well.

In 2011, a Live Action investigation uncovered wide-spread willingness among Planned Parenthood employees to help sex traffickers abuse young teens.

The abortion industry and those who support it are not helping to protect or empower women. In many cases, the violence of abortion against an unborn child only perpetuates the abuse and degradation of women. . . . Read More
