Court: Obama Admin Can’t Make Pro-Life Group Pay Fines for Not Obeying HHS Mandate In a huge victory for Priests for Life, a pro-life organization, a federal appeals court has issued a ruling saying it doesn’t have to pay massive fines to the federal government for not obeying the HHS mandate, which forces religious groups and companies to pay for birth control or abortion-causing drugs for their employees. An emergency injunction granted late this afternoon in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit means that Priests for Life will not have to obey the contraception mandate contained in the Affordable Care Act as its appeal is being heard. It also means that, tomorrow, Priests for Life will not have to cancel health insurance for its employees. Read More

NYC Mayor: Horse-Drawn Carriages in Central Park “Inhumane,” Abortions Okay Bill de Blasio, New York’s incoming mayor, apparently loves animals more than people. He thinks horse-drawn carriages in Central Park are “inhumane.” But abortions in New York City, which is the abortion capital of America given its ridiculously high abortion rates? No problem. Fox News reports on de Blasio’s concern about horse-drawn carriages: New York City Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio has vowed to move quickly to outlaw the horse-drawn carriages that pull tourists around the city’s famous Central Park. But after the abortion, Skinner continued to have morning sickness and to feel the unborn baby’s movements. After consulting a physician, she received word that the movements were just an after-effect of the abortion. Read More

She tells her story: “I remember assisting, once in particular, in the operating room at the clinic where I had been a medical assistant for six years. I was standing behind the doctor and could see everything as he was performing an abortion on a woman who was 20 – 22 weeks pregnant.” Read More

Brenda, Arizona, Silent No More Campaign: Just over forty years ago, I was born at a United State Military Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia. My parents and grandparents served in the US Army protecting our basic constitutional rights. Several months later, our government and organizations like Planned Parenthood began selling a product called abortion. This product was somehow supposed to benefit women. All of us women on this stage bought into it. And, ladies and gentlemen I would suggest that regardless of whether or not you've participated in an abortion in your lifetime, on some level, we've all bought into it. For instance, there was a time when pregnant mothers were "with child" today they are "expecting" a child.

Last year I experienced first-hand how this product has conditioned and groomed even the most pro-life amongst us to somehow view a fetus as something less valuable than a born child.

Court: Obama Admin “Doesn’t Have the Right” to Impose HHS Mandate on Christian Colleges The Obama administration has lost yet another court case against the controversial HHS mandate that forces companies, colleges, and religious groups to pay for birth control and drugs that may cause abortions under their employee health plans. In a 46-page opinion, the court ruled that the federal mandate requiring employers to provide employees with abortion-causing drugs and devices violates federal civil rights laws, and issued an injunction against the mandate. Religious plaintiffs have now won injunctions in 9 out of 12 such cases involving non-profit entities challenging the mandate. Read More

I am so grateful I chose life!

Margarita, Ontario, Canada, Silent No More Campaign : Last May I was 8 weeks pregnant, alone, scared, and ashamed. My boyfriend wanted me to have an abortion, and I felt like I would make a terrible mom because I had been so irresponsible.

I made an appointment with a clinic in Toronto to terminate my pregnancy the same day the doctor confirmed I was pregnant. The abortion clinic told me it wouldn't hurt and that I'd be out in 3 hours. They said I'd need someone to pick me up. My friend, Alex, who was supposed to pick me up, didn't want me to have the abortion. I am still amazed that on the day the abortion was scheduled Alex went to his school, St Theresa Lisieux and found out they were running a pro-life conference. He hadn't been to school for a week. He sent me a text and told me there was a woman there who regretted her abortion. Those were the words that made me stop and think about what I was going to do. Thanks to God, St Theresa Lisieux and Silent No More my daughter was born on Dec 9th 2012. She is 5 months old today - almost a year to the day that I first heard those words "I regret my abortion."

By the grace of God I'll never have to say them. I love being a mommy and I am so grateful I chose life for my daughter. Thank you

#TrestinsFast: A Fast in Support of Traditional Marriage

Testin Meachan
by Matt Ross, Conservative Hideout 2.0: ’ve been in contact with Trestin Meacham, at some level or another, since probably 2009. Trestin was a blogger, and has also run for political office, after his service in the US Military. He is devout in his faith, and loyal to his country. He contacted me yesterday to let me know that he was beginning a fast in support of traditional marriage. Here is his commentary…

After explaining the situation to my family, I have decided to pursue the following course of action. After my dinner tonight, I will begin a fast which will not end until all counties in Utah stop issuing marriage licenses and performing marriages for same sex couples. Due to the rogue judge refusing to issue a stay, this will likely take several days.

I cannot stand by and do nothing while this evil takes root in my home. Some things in life are worth sacrificing one’s heath and even life if necessary. I am but a man, and do not have the money and power to make any noticeable influence in our corrupt system. Never the less, I can do something that people in power cannot ignore.

I do not expect anyone to join me in a fast which has no end in sight, but if you wish to join me in a limited fast it would be a big help.
Trestin has set up a Facebook page for his fast, as well as a Twitter account.

Trestin is making a stand. At the very least, we can help him by raising awareness into the issue. He is standing up to the PC lobby, and those that would silence and references to God’s truth about traditional marriage and morality.

Here is some background as to what is happening in Utah, and why Trestin has taken such a step.

Others had a similar reaction after a ruling by U.S. District Judge Robert J. Shelby that declared Utah’s voter-approved ban on gay marriage unconstitutional.

The recent appointee by President Barack Obama said the ban violates the constitutional rights of gay couples and ruled Utah failed to show that allowing same-sex marriages would affect opposite-sex marriages in any way.

The ruling prompted a frenzy of activity by lawyers and gay couples.

The Republican governor blasted the ruling as going against the will of the people.

Gay couples rushed to the Salt Lake County Clerk’s office en masse to secure marriage licenses, waiting in line by the dozens and getting married on the spot by the mayor and ministers.

It was a jubilant affair as cheers broke out after ceremonies were completed.

A gay bar in Salt Lake quickly made plans for a Friday night party to mark the event. Some made plans to march on the capitol Monday.

‘I am very disappointed an activist federal judge is attempting to override the will of the people of Utah. I am working with my legal counsel and the acting attorney general to determine the best course to defend traditional marriage within the borders of Utah,’ Gov. Gary Herbert said.
So, this is another case of judge over-reaching. Trestin Meacham his making a stand for traditional marriage. I ask that you support his efforts by linking his Facebook page, as well as following his Twitter account. And, buy all means, leave a comment, or send a tweet to let him know that he is supported. Kindly use the hash; #TrestinsFast.

New Mexico Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Same-Sex Marriage

by Bethany Monk, CitizenLink: Even though New Mexico has not redefined the institution, the state Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage.

State marriage laws, enacted in 1961, do not clearly define the institution. There are sections for a “male” and “female” on its marriage applications. It also includes the words “husband” and “wife.” Activists claim the ambiguous laws open the door for same-sex marriage. Many attorneys and legal analysts disagree.

Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) believes the state high court has missed the mark.

“The government’s purpose for recognizing marriage is to bring together one man and one woman as husband and wife to be a father and a mother to any children their union produces,” said ADF Legal Counsel Jim Campbell. “The New Mexico Supreme Court ignored that time-tested understanding of marriage and replaced it with the recently conceived notion that marriage means special government recognition for close relationships.”

Bruce Hausknecht, judicial analyst for Focus on the Family, has a one-word response, “Sheesh.”

“One thing that struck me as ironic from the decision is that the same state Supreme Court just a few months ago held that a Christian photographer’s religious freedom was trumped by a sexual orientation law,” he explained.

That demonstrates the court’s opinion of the cultural clout of gay activists.

“That same court has now held that gays are still not politically powerful enough to fight for same-sex marriage on their own, and must have the help of the courts.”

The ACLU filed a complaint against the state this spring on behalf of same-sex couples who were denied marriage licenses. The suit claimed that because the state Constitution does not exclude same-sex marriage, that it should, therefore, issue the licenses.

This summer, six of the state’s 33 county clerks began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Shortly after, a judge ordered a Santa Fe clerk to issue the licenses. State Attorney General Gary King refused to take any action against the clerks.

ADF, representing several current and former state lawmakers, filed a brief with the state Supreme Court in September.

“This unfortunate result prevents New Mexicans from deciding the future of marriage — its very definition as well as its role in society — through an inclusive democratic process,” Campbell explained. “Regrettably, the court constitutionalized a view of marriage previously unknown in the Land of Enchantment and never chosen by the people.”

Read the complaint in Griego v. Oliver.

Sebelius Is Lying To You

Billy Valentine, Susan B. Anthony List: Lies, lies, and more lies.

That’s the only way to accurately describe the way that the Obama Administration has handled the issue of abortion funding in Obamacare since the very beginning.

The latest lie came last week, when HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius claimed before a House panel that if consumers wanted to know which plans cover abortion under Obamacare, all they had to do was check the summary and benefits section of each plan on Healthcare.gov.

She said this after promising over a month ago to the same House panel that she would provide them with a list of plans that do not cover abortion.

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius didn’t keep her promise, and then she lied to cover it up.

Her blatant lie is proven by a report released this week by the Charlotte Lozier Institute, our education and research arm, which concluded:
“...clear statements of coverage of elective abortion via the Summary of Benefits and Coverage and other plan documents are not the rule. If anything, they are the exception.”Pro-life Members of Congress have had enough of Kathleen Sebelius’s lies, which is why Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) have introduced the “Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act.”

This legislation does two very simple things:
  • Requires the Obamacare exchanges to prominently disclose if an insurance plan covers abortions
  • Requires the disclosure of the amount of the “abortion fee,” a surcharge required under Obamacare for plans that include abortion
Tell your elected officials you’ve had enough with the lies… is transparency too much to ask?

Take Action: Tell your Representative and two Senators to pass the Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act immediately.

Pro-Life Duck Dynasty Star Phil Roberston Suspended After Controversial Comments Duck Dynasty star Phil Roberston has been suspended by A&E because of controversial comments he made about the Bible’s view on homosexuality. Like Phil Robertson, It’s Time for Christians to Speak Up Against Sin Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty was fired because of the cowardice of Christians to speak the truth about sin. The irony of this news is that last night I sat down and watched my first episodes of Duck Dynasty to see what all the buzz was about and why my kids wanted Duck Dynasty stuff for Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised to see the prayer led by Phil Robertson at the end of each episode, and how he talked about his wife of 50 years. Read More

Feminist Mob Invades Catholic Church, Unfurls Pro-Abortion Banner on Altar Pro-abortion feminists are not happy that the European Parliament rejected a bill that would have called abortion a human right. In response, in protest, they invaded a local Catholic church in Italy and unfurled a pro-abortion banner on the church’s altar. “A group of pro-abortion feminists have invaded the Catholic cathedral in Bologna, Italy, to protest against the rejection by the European Parliament of the pro-abortion Estrela report,” says John Smeaton, the head of the British pro-life group Society for the Protection of Unborn Children. “The protesters unfurled a pro-abortion banner in front of the cathedral’s sanctuary. Cardinal Carlo Caffara, Bologna’s archbishop, had called upon the European Parliament to reject the Estrela report.” Read More

Among the many testimonies in the book, Reardon presents the story of “Molly Graham,” who worked in a hospital and assisted in abortion procedures. According to Aborted Women Silent No More, Graham had had several abortions and was not troubled by them when she began working as an anesthesiologist at an unnamed hospital that performed abortions.
