Amanda was almost 18 and about to “age out” of the foster care system. On the pages with the pictures of aborted babies, I have a brief survey which allows a visitor to answer several questions and leave their own comments. I got a comment this morning that I thought was interesting, and I wanted to share it. The comment comes from a 37-year-old woman who claims to be an “atheist/agnostic.” She says: “quit with the lies and half truths. the set up of the pics are disgusting. seriously, would it be okay to play with and pose any other kinds of dead bodies? war is horrible but you don’t see people making horrific scenarios with peoples [sic] body parts.” Read more 
A Chinese city has plans to fight the epidemic of abandoned babies caused in part by the one-child policy with an anonymous baby box. The idea behind the box is to protect newborns from infanticide by having parents of so-called unwanted children leave them with someone who will find them a family. King’s College in London is proud that they have provided 16 new embryonic stem cell lines to the United States’ National Institutes of Health (NIH) registry of stem cell lines eligible for federal funding. After the Supreme Court announced that they will hear a challenge to the HHS Contraception Mandate, the White House put out a statement saying that the mandate is “essential” to a woman’s health. As more and more abortion clinics continue to close nationwide, the number of abortions nationally continues to decline. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released its latest national abortion statistics today and found the number and rate of reported abortions fell 3 percent in 2010, the most recent year for which the CDC has statistics. The three percent decline in 2010 follows on the heels of a five percent decline in 2009. The CDC reported 753,000 abortions in 2010, but that includes just 45 states and the best national estimate is about 1.2 million abortions taking place annually. Read More
For the third time this year, one of LeRoy Carhart’s abortion patients were rushed to Shady Grove Hospital (SGH) in Maryland for emergency treatment after a late-term abortion. On Tuesday at 11:45 a.m., an ambulance arrived at Germantown Reproductive Health Services and loaded a women for transport to the SGH emergency room. A Belgian Senate committee voted today to extend euthanasia to children with disabilities, in a move pro-life advocates worldwide had been fearing would come and expand an already much-abused euthanasia law even further. The Belgian Senate committee voted 13-4 to allow minors to seek euthanasia under certain conditions and the measure also would extend the right to request euthanasia to adults with dementia. The bill still has legislative votes to clear before it becomes law and it now heads to the Senate , where it will be debated in a plenary meeting by all senators. Hobby Lobby’s battle against the HHS mandate is headed to the Supreme Court, as the high court today agreed to hear its lawsuit against the controversial provision in Obamacare. The Obama administration is attempting to make it comply with the HHS mandate that compels religious companies to pay for birth control and abortion-causing drugs for their employees. However, the U.S. Supreme Court today agreed to take up Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a landmark case addressing the Constitutionally guaranteed rights of business owners to operate their family companies without violating their deeply held religious convictions. When she was pregnant with her daughter Abigail Rose Beutler, doctors told Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, a pro-life Republican from Washington state, that her baby had a potentially fatal diagnosis that would claim her life shortly after birth. Beutler posted a message on Facebook in June saying her unborn child had been diagnosed with Potter’s Syndrome, a condition which prevents the child’s kidneys from developing properly and is typically fatal for the baby. Brigham’s Pennsylvania medical license is inactive and cannot be renewed. In July, 2010, Brigham was banned by the State of Pennsylvania from operating or controlling any abortion clinics in that state citing violations that endangered the public. An Indiana abortion practitioner received national attention in September when pro-life groups digging through state records discovered that he failed to file a timely report on the abortion he did on a 13-year-old girl who was victimized by statutory rape. Now, a new report about abortion practitioners statewide shows he’s not alone. An abortion practitioner who kept bags of aborted babies as souvenirs has passed away. Joseph Booker Jr., 69, was found by authorities in the bathtub of his home. An autopsy performed Friday showed Booker suffered a stroke and drowned. Booker is formerly an abortion practitioner with Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Mississippi’s only remaining abortion clinic and he let the abortion business after a Mississippi woman won a legal settlement related to a botched abortion he had done on her. One of the top pro-life members of Congress has given birth to a beautiful baby girl. Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rogers gave birth this morning to little Brynn Catherine. In so doing, Rogers became the first woman to give birth three times while serving in Congress. Brynn”s older brother Cole was born in 2007, and sister Grace was born in 2010. On November 14, Portland Public Schools joined with Planned Parenthood in an attempt to end the teaching career of Bill Diss, a highly qualified and dedicated teacher who blocked the access of Planned Parenthood employees to his class. Now, research by the watchdog group STOPP.org finds that some of those responsible for determining the fate of Diss have direct ties to pro-abortion politics. It is Ms. Levy’s deeply sorrowful account of her miscarriage while on assignment in, of all places, Mongolia. Over the decades I have read many stories of wanted babies lost, despite all that the mother could do. And, like anyone with a huge extended family, there have been many miscarriages in the Andrusko/Castle clan. Nevermind that having them available is merely giving someone a choice to publicly express their beliefs on a contentious subject. An angry man jumped out of his vehicle and threatened to shoot pro-life activist Mark Gietzen, who had offered to help him as he left a woman for an abortion at the South Wind Women’s Center abortion clinic, located inside a building where George Tiller once operated in Wichita, Kansas. Gietzen, Director of the Kansas Coalition for Life, was setting up a pro-life display early on Thursday, November 21, when the man drove into the abortion clinic parking lot and dropped off a woman.
