#BoycottTarget Climbs To Over 1 Million

by Claire Chretien, Life Site News: Over 1 million people have signed a pledge to boycott Target over its new policy allowing men to access women’s bathrooms.

The American Family Association’s Boycott Target petition gained traction immediately, reaching the one million mark in only nine days.

“Corporate America must stop bullying people who disagree with the radical left agenda to remake society into their progressive image,” said AFA President Tim Wildmon. “#BoycottTarget has resonated with Americans. Target’s harmful policy poses a danger to women and children; nearly everyone has a mother, wife, daughter or friend who is put in jeopardy by this policy. Predators and voyeurs would take advantage of the policy to prey on those who are vulnerable. And it’s clear now that over one million customers agree.”

Target defended its policy in a statement saying that it believes everyone “deserves to be protected from discrimination, and treated equally” and earlier this week, a Target spokeswoman defended the policy as “inclusive.”

The AFA said that unisex bathrooms are a common-sense alternative to allowing men unfettered access to women’s bathrooms.

“Target should keep separate facilities for men and women, but for the trans community and for those who simply like using the bathroom alone, a single occupancy unisex option should be provided,” the petition says.

The AFA warned that Target’s new policy benefits sexual predators and poses a danger to women and children.

“With Target publicly boasting that men can enter women's bathrooms, where do you think predators are going to go?” the petition asked.

There have been numerous instances of predatory men accessing women’s bathrooms and intimate facilities in the wake of “transgender” bathroom policies allowing them to do so.

“We want to make it very clear that AFA does not believe the transgender community poses this danger to the wider public,” said Wildmon. “Rather, this misguided and reckless policy provides a possible gateway for predators who are out there.”

New Civil Society Coalition Formed at UN to Protect the Family

by Stefano Gennarini, J.D., C-Fam: A new coalition to confront the growing international threat against the family is launching a pro-family platform to unite organizations against overreach by international institutions.

“The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and binding international instruments reserve singular protections for the family in recognition of the family’s irreplaceable role as the natural environment for the growth and well-being of all its members and particularly children,” declares The Family Articles organized and led by C-Fam [publisher of the Friday Fax], Family Research Council, HazteOir, CitizenGo, Human Life International, Derecho a Vivir, National Organization for Marriage, and the TransAtlantic Christian Council.

“Relations between individuals of the same sex and other social and legal arrangements that are neither equivalent nor analogous to the family are not entitled to the protections singularly reserved for the family in international law and policy,” the Articles state.

The coalition, called Civil Society for the Family is the first pro-family coalition to explicitly push back against UN entities attempting to redefine the family to include same-sex relations, something the UN General Assembly has also opposed.

“The international community has repeatedly rejected attempts to redefine the family in international law and policy,” the Articles state. “Any mention of the family in UN resolutions and conference outcomes can only be interpreted in reference to a man and a woman united in marriage, and relations that are equivalent or analogous, including single parent families and multigenerational families.”

The platform explains how “pressure to grant international status and recognition to social and legal arrangements between individuals of the same sex in the context of the United Nations has led to confusion and acrimony in international negotiations on the subject of the family. Unfortunately, this has led to the exclusion of the family altogether from recent debates in the UN General Assembly.”

Organizers say The Family Articles are intended to move the debate beyond the current impasse and to encourage delegations who are under increasing pressure to conform.

“The world cannot be held hostage by a small minority of countries blocking any discussion of the family unless they can impose same-sex marriage on the entire world,” said C-Fam president Austin Ruse. “This is harmful both for the family for the United Nations.”

The statement details episodes of overreach by UN entities and bureaucrats who claim same-sex relations must be treated on the same footing as marriage and the family, from the UN Secretary General down to UN agencies, including UNICEF and the World Food Program.

These attempts by UN entities to treat same sex relations as equivalent to the family, including claims that sexual orientation and gender identity are human rights, “cannot give rise to binding legal obligations on sovereign states,” the statement declares.

Governments that treat same-sex relations on the same footing as marriage and the family, including through parental rights “undermine the fundamental human right of children to know and be cared for by their mother and father, and may jeopardize their health and wellbeing.” Social science shows children do best when raised by their mother and father.

The coalition hopes the UN will renew its focus on the family in UN policy, but not at the cost of redefining the family to suit countries that offer same sex relations special benefits or protections. This would be “incompatible with international human rights law,” the platform concludes.

Organizations can join the platform and become members of the coalition “Civil Society for the Family” online.

“We expect hundreds of groups from all over the world to sign onto The Family Articles and to join Civil Society for the Family,” said Ruse.

Dude, Get The Hell Out Of The Ladies Room

Hugh R. Brown, American Life League: Curt Schilling is a former Major League baseball pitcher who was fired this week by ESPN. During his playing career, Curt was a 6-time all-star, a 3-time world champion, and a world series MVP; he ended his playing career with over 200 wins. Curt has been a baseball analyst for many years, most recently for the left-wing ABC owned sports network ESPN.

ESPN fired Curt for simply sharing and commenting about a meme on Facebook. The meme stated that men should stay out of women’s restrooms. The left-wing media push for a complete acceptance of insanity, such as support for supposed “transgenderism” as natural and normal, burns at a torrid rate. The world, ABC and ESPN, and many businesses think that you either accept their insanity or pay the price. You will be fired, you will be labeled, and you will be corporately ostracized. Our response is “to hell with them.”

It’s simple. Men who think they are women need help. Whether their gender dysphoria is the result of confusion, trauma, or mental illness, it is not natural and thus cannot be accepted such; it is a condition that requires help. To treat this condition as natural is irresponsible; it is a lie.

Did you know that 41% of active transgender men and women attempt suicide? That’s 10 times the rate of the rest of the American population. These individuals need help, not false acceptance. Nevertheless, the promoters and enablers of treating perversity as wholesome truth will not stop. They want grown men in the ladies’ bathroom with your wives, with your mothers, and with your daughters. Welcome to a world without faith or reason.

Fear of speaking out exists because the death of reason and common sense allows politically correct human secularists, like the empty shells at ESPN, to flap in the wind and fire men who speak the obvious.

American Life League applauds and thanks Curt Schilling for having the courage to speak the truth that even a four-year-old knows. Men are men, women are women. The attempt to redefine nature is not only unnatural, but also has an underlying evil design that seeks to brand faith and reason as bigotry. The wicked end game is persecution.

You DO NOT have to accept and tolerate this nonsense. Speak your mind, hold your ground, and move forward. The truth is on your side along with the power of prayer and the strength of Heaven. Our own Emily Brown of Life Defenders knows the truth is on our side and has boldly proclaimed it (link to video). Join American Life League in standing up to this latest push for madness!

Louisiana House Passes Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood Abortion Company

The Louisiana state House has approved legislation that would further defund the Planned Parenthood abortion company in the state. Last year, pro-life former Governor Bobby Jindal cut off a taxpayer-funded contract with Planned Parenthood after the abortion business was caught selling aborted babies and their body parts.  ... Read More @ LifeNews

Republicans Stop Abortions on Military Bases

Family Policy Alliance: Republicans on the House Armed Services Committee rejected an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that would have turned military base hospitals into abortion centers. Department of Defense policy does not allow taxpayer-funded abortions.

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Ca.) offered the amendment with the understanding that the abortions would be ‘privately funded.’ Military medical facilities are all funded with tax dollars and it would take a great amount of maneuvering to allow privately funded procedures within them.

Rep. Trent Franks of Arizona called on the members of the committee to think about what’s really at stake.

“I think it’s time for all of us to ask the real question, as hard as it is, and that is, ‘Does abortion really take the life of a baby?’” Franks asked. “If it doesn’t, I’m glad to stop talking about it. But, if it does, then those of us living here in the seat of freedom in the greatest country in the history of humanity also find ourselves in the midst of the greatest human genocide in the history of humanity.”

The amendment was killed 25-37 with all Republican committee members voting against.

“It’s always difficult for me to understand the fact that we take the lives of over a million children a year in America and that is somehow not enough for my friends on the Left,” Franks said. “Now we come and we want to make our military bases abortion clinics. I think it dishonors everyone who gave everything they had for this country and what it stands for.”

AmeriCorps or AmeriCorpse? Abortion Scandal Stuns Hill

Tony Perkins' Washington Update: Volunteers or political operatives? That's what most people are asking after an investigation blew the lid off of a shocking new scandal involving AmeriCorps program. The "public service" arm of the federal government, created by Bill Clinton in 1993, did a tremendous disservice to taxpayers, an inspector general has found, by teaming up with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) to encourage -- and in some cases facilitate -- abortions. On Capitol Hill, the news of these "abortion doulas" stunned conservative members, who have long seen the Community Health Centers an ethical alternative to funding Planned Parenthood.

Over the past 48 hours, those opinions have radically changed, as congressmen and women demand answers for two years of illegal abortion advocacy. According to the inspector general, the NACHC authorized at least six AmeriCorps volunteers to transport women to abortion centers and offer "emotional support" -- breaking a series of federal laws in the process. As if that weren't outrageous enough, the report also found that senior staffers were covering up several instances of "waste, fraud, and abuse."

This isn't the first time AmeriCorps has been caught offering support to the abortion industry. In 2011, the group's workers were discovered at Planned Parenthood centers, serving out nine-month terms as "volunteers." . . . [Read More]

UN Commission Steamrolls Over Pro-Life/ Pro-Family Concerns

by Stefano Gennarini, J.D.: Ending negotiations unusually early last Friday, the UN Commission on Population and Development chose to embrace ambiguity on divisive social issues in a resolution about the need for accurate data to measure progress on UN development policy. ”

The annual commission chose language that might be construed within the UN system as a license to promote homosexual rights, abortion rights, sexual rights, and other controversial social policies despite insistent calls to anchor controversial terms in the context of previous agreements that excluded these notions.

This comes at a volatile time, as the UN system ramps up advocacy to get countries to relent on contentious issues at the behest of powerful developed nations.

In order to avoid ambiguities, the General Assembly and other UN Commissions qualify terms such as “sexual and reproductive health” and “reproductive rights” by referencing a 1994 UN Conference that prevented abortion from becoming an international right, and excludes the notions of homosexual rights and sexual rights. This happened as recently as last month at the Commission on the Status of Women. The Commission on Population and Development, held each April, also qualified both terms in the past.

This time, instead of grounding the terms in previous agreements, the Commission chose to leave them unqualified.

Countries that normally insist on deleting or qualifying the terms were reportedly assuaged by assurances that there was no need for qualifiers, since they could only be understood in the context of the 1994 Conference on Population and Development.

To appease them further the United States and the European Union conceded a hotly contested paragraph that acknowledges the sovereign prerogative of states to implement UN policy in conformity with national priorities, culture, and religion.

In exchange, developed countries pushing the sexual agenda excluded express references to “comprehensive sexuality education” which derailed the Commission last year, or open-ended language about discrimination that would be construed as including sexual orientation as a category of human rights law.

In the long term the tradeoff is likely to benefit proponents of the sexual agenda, since other elements of the resolution are likely to erase these gains.

In particular, the resolution appears to endorse unspecified “reviews” of the 1994 UN Conference carried out by the UN bureaucracy that expands the 1994 agreement to include precisely the controversial elements it excluded.

The wording in the resolution ambiguously opens the door to agreements that UN agencies deliberately concocted outside of the normative framework of the UN Charter to gin up support for controversial social policies that would never fly at UN headquarters. Now they are asking the UN membership to endorse these agreements, without ever negotiating their content.

This undermines how only agreements negotiated by UN member states in the context of UN Charter bodies can provide normative guidance for the entire UN system.

To avoid this confusion recent agreements referred to “outcomes of review conferences” instead, a less ambiguous phrase that can be interpreted as referring only to agreements by the General Assembly.

Russia was one of a few countries that expressed its disappointment at the outcome. Countries were “forcing their own agenda” through “terms with vague and arbitrary interpretations,” and proved “blind and deaf” to other positions, the delegation said when the resolution was adopted.

Pro-Abortion Hillary Clinton: I Want to “Go Further” Left Than Obama

President Barack Obama has been derisively called the Abortion President by some pro-life advocates for the manner in which he has gone out of his way to promote and fund abortions and the abortion industry. From funding Planned Parenthood to pushing abortions on an international level at the United Nations and in other countries like Kenya, Obama has been the abortion movement’s best friend.

But if you think Obama has been bad, Hillary Clinton wants to multiple his pro-abortion efforts. At a campaign rally, the best friend of Planned Parenthood says she wants to “go further” left than Obama. . . . Read More

Abortion Activists Target Pro-Life Governor With Sick “Color Your Junk for Pence” Event

What abortion activists think they’ll accomplish by sending Indiana Gov. Mike Pence coloring pages of genitalia isn’t quite clear.

But a small group of abortion activists are doing just that in an effort to oppose a new Indiana law that protects unborn babies from discrimination because of a disability, their sex or race. Pence signed the measure into law at the end of March, making Indiana the second state to ban abortions because of genetic disorders such as Down syndrome. Planned Parenthood already filed a lawsuit challenging the law.

Fuming, abortion activists also launched a series of juvenile campaigns to attack Pence and the pro-life legislators who supported the life-saving law. Ignoring that the purpose of the law is to protect unborn babies, abortion activists have been claiming the law is all about controlling women’s reproductive organs. . . . Read More

Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards Compares Promoting Abortion to Fighting Racism

Cecile Richards loves abortion and she thinks the destruction of unborn children in abortions is the women’s rights and human rights cause of our time. Shamefully, during her speech at Georgetown University last week — a scandal in and of itself that a leading Catholic educational institution would give a platform to the woman who runs America’s biggest abortion business – Richards compared defending abortion to fighting racism. Secretary General Candidate Wants UN Global Tax

A Global UN Tax Would Mean Death to Millions More Babies

The Drum Beat Continues

Secretary General Candidate Says He Supports It

by Austin Ruse, C-FAM: We have warned people for years about the UN Global Tax. We are practically alone in raising the alarm.

This week our warnings started to come true.

In public interviews for the soon-to-be open Office of Secretary General, one of the candidates openly espoused a Global UN Tax.

He said it would be a good way to raise money for the UN.
  • Recall, we found the UN Global Tax in the 2011 Human Development Report of the UN Development Office.
  • Recall, we found a speech by a top UN office espousing the UN Global Tax.
  • Recall, we found it in the Sustainable Development Goals only a few weeks ago.
  • Recall, we found it in the planning documents of the World Humanitarian Summit taking place in a few weeks.
The reason a UN Global Tax on all international financial transactions would be a bad idea is that it would create a totally independent revenue stream for UN radicals who want nothing more than to impose their radical agenda on the world — abortion on demand, homosexual marriage, homosexual adoption, all forced on countries and people who morally object to such abominations.

The UN is now funded by VOLUNTARY contributions from governments. They can always pull their funding, like the US did when the US pulled out of UNESCO for several years. A UN Global Tax would have no government oversight. NONE.

The Global UN Tax must be stopped.

C-Fam, in conjuntion with our friends at have created a global petition that already has 23,000 names. But we need many more. If you have not do so, please go to and sign the petition and then send this note to all your friends and family.

I also ask you to help C-Fam. C-Fam has walked the UN halls for going on 18 years. C-Fam’s founders were at the Cairo Conference three years before that. We are often the only pro-life group in the room when bad things happen.

Abortion Clinic Files for Bankruptcy After Firing Employees When They Became Pregnant

It isn’t difficult to guess the reasons why a late-term abortion clinic in New Jersey didn’t want pregnant employees to be working there. It could be bad for its $1.8 million-a-year business.

The Pilgrim Medical Center, a Montclair abortion clinic that advertises same-day, late-term abortions, recently lost a discrimination lawsuit filed by three former employees who said they were fired after becoming pregnant, according to the Wall Street Journal. Now, the abortion facility is filing for bankruptcy.

Nicholas Campanella, the abortionist who owns the facility, has a reputation among his staff for “not lik[ing] pregnant employees,” according to the lawsuit. One former employee said she was fired in February 2013 after she became pregnant; Campanella told her there was not work for her anymore, though the abortion clinic had just posted a job opening for her duties, the report states. The other two workers said they were fired after taking maternity leave.

A judge awarded them more than $1 million, but Campanella is appealing the decision, according to the report. Because the abortion facility also is filing for bankruptcy, the former employees cannot collect the monetary damages, the report states. . . .

The state found the abortion facility was reusing the same needle to withdraw medication for multiple patients, not cleaning up blood properly, and failing to keep emergency medical supplies in stock. State investigators also found that a patient’s chest was not hooked up to an EKG monitor, but an EKG status was written on the person’s medical record, according to the report. During the inspection, one employee did not even know where the EKG monitor was, the report states.

These horrific conditions coupled with the discrimination against his pregnant employees seem to indicate that Campanella has little regard for women’s lives. . . . Read More @ LifeNews

Clinton agrees that a baby “just hours before delivery still has no constitutional rights”

Hillary Clinton (left), “The View” co-host Paula Faris
(on the right). In the middle is co-host Joy Behar
by Dave Andrusko, National Right to Life: Thanks go out to Gary Bauer, who heads the Campaign for Working Families, who posted this quotation from Hillary Clinton.

The sentiments demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is pro-abortion from the top of her head to the soles of her feet.

You’ll remember NRL News Today has twice posted about Clinton’s astonishing (well, astonishing to those who’ve been snookered into believing she is a “moderate” on abortion) remarks last Sunday on Meet the Press.

The most important takeaway (although there were many worth pondering) was when she told moderator Chuck Todd “The unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights.”

Bauer tells us Paula Faris, a co-host for The View, actually asked Clinton a difficult question about abortion. Here is the exchange:FARIS: I want to ask you about some comments that you made over the weekend on ‘Meet the Press. ‘ You said, ‘The unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights.’ My question is at what point does someone have constitutional rights, and are you saying that a child, on its due date, just hours before delivery still has no constitutional rights?

CLINTON: Under our law that is the case, Paula. I support Roe v. Wade because I think it is an important — an important statement about the importance of a woman making this most difficult decision with consultation by whom she chooses: her doctor, her faith, her family. And under the law and under certainly that decision, that is the way we structure it.”
Bauer’s comment was spot-on: “Just to be clear, Hillary Clinton is saying that baby hours from being delivered could be aborted under Roe v. Wade, and she supports that. Hillary Clinton is pro-abortion until the moment of birth. Only a small percentage of voters, including women, would agree with that extreme position.”

It is no hyperbole nor a misreading nor a misrepresentation to say (as we have for decades) that there is no abortion Clinton would forbid, no time in fetal development after which she would say you can’t rip this kid to pieces.

But just so I’m clear, I am utterly astounded that the Hillary-loving The View would piggyback on Todd’s provocative question: “When, or if, does an unborn child have constitutional rights?”

Astounded, but grateful.
Editor’s note. This appeared in the April digital edition of National Right to Life News.

Never Has Responsibility to Protect Life Been More Difficult Than in Our Day

by Cardinal Donald Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington, DC.: . . . Some of that Word is addressed explicitly to you, the young people, the university students who are at the heart of this University Mass for Life. God says to you as he did to the Prophet Jeremiah, “Do not say I am too young, I do not know how to speak.” Do not say, I am not sure how I should voice my support for unborn children. Because the Lord says to the Prophet Jeremiah, “See I place my words in your mouth!”

... Saint Paul writing to the Romans, then and to us now, says, “Do not conform yourself to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”

Yes, there is a powerful political correctness movement, emphasis, perspective, environment and force all around us. It says to set aside such things as the value of human life and substitute the politically correct position that you should be free to choose to kill unborn children. But the Word of God comes to us to say, “Do not conform yourself to this age.”

[I}n the Gospel, Jesus tells us in response to the question of the young man, “What must I do to gain eternal life?” “Keep the commandments.” And these include “You shall not kill.”

. . . As a sacred gift entrusted to us, we are responsible for working to protect and preserve this life until it ends naturally, until the time that God alone appoints for our departure. Of course, since the time of Cain that gift of life has been brutally violated and violently taken away. Yet never has the responsibility to protect and preserve life been more difficult than in our day, either in our private personal lives or a social scale, given the assaults on life from widespread murder, war, abortion, suicide, euthanasia, and more, including the prospect of medicalized death from those whose profession exists to help save life, not take it.

Pope Francis has spoken often about a widespread cultural mentality that enslaves the hearts of so many today, a mindset where what is valued the least is human life, especially if the person is physically or socially weaker. That is why concern for human life in its totality is a real priority for the Church, he told a group of healthcare providers. There is a need to unreservedly say “yes” to life, he said, especially with respect to the most vulnerable – the disabled, the sick, the newborn, children, the elderly, “even if he is ill or at the end of his days, [he] bears the face of Christ. They cannot be discarded, as the ‘culture of waste’ suggests! They cannot be thrown away!”

At a time when many in society tend to judge a person’s worth on an obscure and subjective “quality of life” scale, we are convinced that human dignity is not based on productivity or usefulness, and dignity is not destroyed during times of hardship or even great suffering. Created by God, made in his image, each and every person is endowed with inherent dignity.

Dear brothers and sisters, do not be deceived by the politically correct rhetoric that uses words to hide the true meaning. Those that favor killing the unborn child often speak of, “the product of conception” as opposed to “the unborn child.” They speak about “facilitating the conclusion of the life cycle” instead of “assisting a suicide.” So it is with choice. When you use the word “choice” you have to complete the sentence. What is it you choose?

The word “choice” is a smokescreen behind which those killing unborn children take refuge. Every chance you get, blow that smoke away.

Do not ever be convinced by the rhetoric of liberation that killing unborn, innocent children is in any way similar to the great social justice struggles that our nation has faced – many times enlightened by the Church’s social teaching. Whether it was the fight against slavery, racial discrimination, or unjust working conditions, the Church’s proclamation of the dignity of all human life was the center.

To realize, respect and foster human life, or any form of goodness, is to glorify the Creator of all persons and to honor his transcendent and creative goodness.

Some years ago, I visited one of our mission efforts in South America that included a maternity hospital. In the special section was a two day old baby whose mother had left him with the sisters because she was not able to care for the baby. She said she hoped the sisters would find a good home for the infant. A sister said to me, “You can pick up the baby. You will not hurt it. He is not that fragile.”

It was only when I went to put the baby back into its little crib that I realized how strong even an infant’s grip can be. He had latched on to my finger and was holding on tightly. It was as if he was saying, “Please, do not let me go. Please, do not let me alone. Please, somebody care for me.”

My brothers and sisters, what you are doing this evening is responding to the call of many, many unborn children. Please, be there for me. Please, do not let me go. Please, speak up for me.

May God bless you and remember what the Lord said to you through the Prophet Jeremiah, “To whomever I send you, you shall go and you shall speak.”

Pro-life NFL Star Matt Birk Reveals Reason He Skipped meeting With Obama

by Pete Baklinski: When football star Matt Birk decided to quietly decline an invitation to meet president Obama after winning the 2013 Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens, he said at the time that he was acting on his Christian faith and pro-life convictions. The president had recently voiced his support for abortion giant Planned Parenthood, even going as far as to ask God to “bless” the organization. That made Birk upset. He wanted no honors from a man who supported the brutal killing of preborn babies. While all this is true, there was yet a deeper reason which Birk has not revealed until now.

“It was because of my faith and my pro-life conviction, but ultimately, it was because of my kids,” the 15-year NFL veteran and holder of two All-Pro awards as well as six Pro Bowl selections, told LifeSiteNews in an exclusive video interview at his Connecticut home.

“I want to not just talk about my faith, but I want to live it out too. And a few years ago, some of the older ones [were] aware of Planned Parenthood and what occurs there, and so, I wanted to set the example for them and be a dad that they could be proud of,” he said.
For Matt Birk and his wife Adrianna, parenting is not a responsibility they take lightly, especially given their large family of seven children, all under the age of 14. For them, it is their faith in God which inspires them to welcome new life into their family — including recently adopting “little Weston” in January — and to do their very best to raise their children according to God’s standards.

“We love all of our kids. They all have different positive qualities. People will say, ‘Oh, are you done?’ And, honestly, whenever God tells us we are done, we are going to be done. As of now, there is definitely probably another Birk coming. We are always welcoming for another one,” Adrianna said with a big smile. . . . [Read More]

Obama Admin Warns States That Defunding Planned Parenthood Violates Federal Law

by Ben Johnson: The Obama administration is warning states that defunding Planned Parenthood may violate federal law, in a new letter (released on April 19). The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) sent a letter to states on Tuesday saying that, under federal law, Medicaid recipients have the right to receive services from any qualified health care provider, including Planned Parenthood.

“Providing the full range of women’s health services” – the administration's term for abortion – “neither disqualifies a provider from participating in the Medicaid program, nor is the provision of such services inconsistent with the best interests of the beneficiary,” the CMS directive states, “and shall not be grounds for a state’s action against a provider in the Medicaid program.”

That is a pointed rebuke to the efforts undertaken by 10 states to deny state funding to the nation's leading abortion provider in the wake of undercover video footage showing high-ranking officials in Planned Parenthood discussing the harvesting, procurement, and remuneration they expected to receive for aborted babies' organs and tissue.

Pro-life advocates say this is another example of special treatment accorded to Planned Parenthood, a major fundraiser for Obama and Hillary Clinton. . . .

The nation's largest abortion provider testified before the House of Representatives that it receives 41 percent of its total funding from taxpayers, largely from family planning programs, although Medicaid funds some abortions.

Planned Parenthood, which performed 323,999 abortions, received $553.7 million from U.S. taxpayers during the 2014-2015 fiscal year, according to its most recent annual report. That's an increase in funding over the previous year, when it received $528.4 million in taxpayer funds.

The Obama administration has taken efforts to keep funds flowing to Planned Parenthood in the past.

In 2013, the Obama administration sidestepped Texas law and gave $13 million in Title X funding directly to a coalition of abortion providers than included Planned Parenthood. The administration has funded Planned Parenthood directly in defiance of state legislators' wishes in Tennessee, North Carolina, and New Hampshire.

It has also continually warned states against legislation that would remove Planned Parenthood as an approved Medicaid recipient and punished states that went ahead with such measures.

In 2015, the Obama administration reduced federal funding to Kansas by $370,000 – the amount of money the state denied Planned Parenthood.

Stepmom Holds Down 4-Year-Old Boy in Scalding Hot Bath for Over 25 Minutes Killing Him

Austin Cooper Ritchie
In a truly horrific tragedy, a 4-year-old boy allegedly was killed by his stepmom on Wednesday after scalding him with hot water.

“I think my son died,” his father, Robert Ritchie III, told the dispatcher when he realized what happened to his son, according to When the dispatcher asked if he could start CPR to save his son, he sobbed, “He is stiff as a board.”

The step-mom said at the time that the 4-year-old died from a “hot bath,” but Dayton Daily News now says that she confessed to police to holding him in water for 25 minutes as a form of punishment because he did not like taking baths.

When the step-mom, Anna Ritchie, took him out of the tub pieces of his skin were in the water, according to the report. Ritchie reportedly told the child’s father he had been burned but told him not to check on him in order to not wake him. The father said he did not check on him until the next morning. When he did, he saw his son was not breathing and called 911, according to the report.

The Warren County Ohio Coroner’s Investigator Doyle Burke labeled the child’s death a homicide. . . . Read More

Mississippi Legislature Passes Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood Abortion Business

Planned Parenthood is losing money left and right as states, outraged by its trafficking of aborted babies’ body parts, move to defund the abortion giant.

This week, Mississippi legislators sent a bill to Gov. Phil B
ryant that would prohibit tax dollars through Medicaid from going to groups that perform elective abortions, according to the Associated Press.

Mississippi Senate Bill 2238 passed the state House on Saturday, and the state Senate gave it the final OK on Wednesday, the report states. Gov. Bryant is expected to sign it.

Modeled after Texas legislation, the bill was introduced after pro-life legislators witnessed the shocking revelations in undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood selling aborted babies’ body parts, LifeNews reported. . . . Read More

Louisiana House Committee Passes Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood Abortion Company

A Louisiana state House committee has approved legislation that would further defund the Planned Parenthood abortion company in the state. last year, pro-life former Governor Bobby Jindal cut off a taxpayer-funded contract with Planned Parenthood after the abortion business was caught selling aborted babies and their body parts.

In August, then-Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal canceled a state contract with Planned Parenthood that provides the abortion company with family planning funding through Medicaid. But Planned Parenthood went to court to block the move.

Then, Jindal tried a different approach — one based on the fact that Planned Parenthood has been caught in other states engaging in Medicaid fraud. Now, the state legislature is moving a bill forward to yank the abortion company’s taxpayer funding . . . Read More

TAKE ACTION: Dear Target, I Expect More and You’ll See Me Less

Family Policy Alliance: Target announced a change in policy that allows men access to the women’s restrooms and changing rooms in their stores.

In a statement, the company said: “We welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”

The store’s Facebook page lit up with people condemning the policy, like this post from Laura Prater.

“…in your desire to be inclusive, you have failed to be inclusive to women and children. If anything, change all your bathrooms and changing rooms to single stall. You need to seriously consider this decision. You are not above the laws to protect ALL your guests, not just the LGBT community.”

Texas Values, one of Family Policy Alliance’s nearly 40 state-based groups, is asking Texans to express their opinion.

“Legitimate concerns about these policies are to be expected,” they wrote, “and are based on growing instances where men have entered women’s bathrooms to take video and pictures of women and girls, assault women or expose themselves in the restrooms. It is simple common sense for voters across the nation to protect women and children from being forced to share bathrooms or dressing rooms with grown men.”

Send a petition to Target telling them we “Expect more.” We want restrooms and changing areas that keep women and children safe.

Legendary Notre Dame Football Coach Lou Holtz: Don’t Apologize for Being Pro-Life

Legendary Notre Dame Football coach Lou Holtz praised the Vitae Foundation audience at their Jefferson City Pro-Life Events on Monday and Tuesday, saying, “People went into burning buildings on 9/11 and saved a bunch of lives. They are considered heroes. What you’re doing is every bit as important as what they did because you’re trying to save lives as well.” ... Read More

Obama Admin Admits It Doesn’t Need To Force Little Sisters To Provide Contraceptives

The federal government recently admitted in a brief to the U.S. Supreme Court that it does not need to force religious objectors to provide contraceptive coverage as part of the HHS mandate, meaning a Court victory for Catholic colleges and schools, and others challenging the mandate, could be in sight, according to Becket Fund for Religious Liberty senior counsel Mark Rienzi.

“The government has now admitted ‘yes, we can get people contraceptives without involving nuns,’” said Rienzi in a recent press call discussing the briefs requested by the Court last month. “That’s a pretty logical point. It shouldn’t have taken five years of litigation to admit that, but it’s good that they have admitted it. And now it’s a pretty easy path to consensus for the Court.”

In a surprise twist last month, the Supreme Court asked both the government and petitioners against the HHS contraception/abortifacient/sterilization mandate to submit additional briefs. The briefs, according to the Court’s request, were meant to explain ways in which the objectionable coverage could be provided to employees while also preserving the religious freedom of employers — including Catholic colleges, schools and nonprofits — seeking to live out their sincerely held beliefs. In the Market for Fetal Body Parts, a Baby's Brain Sells for $3,340

by Kelsey Harkness:  Republicans on the special House panel investigating the transfer of fetal tissue from aborted babies will present evidence in a hearing today that breaks down the price per body part.

With release of this evidence, Republicans say, they have enough documentation to show that several abortion clinics and middleman procurement businesses may have violated federal law.

“It is just horrifying,” Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., who leads the House’s investigation of the fetal tissue industry, told The Daily Signal. “They are putting a dollar value on these organs from these children—unborn children that have been aborted. It is just beyond belief.”

According to Republicans involved in the investigation, a researcher paid a middleman procurement company $3,340 for a fetal brain, $595 for a “baby skull matched to upper and lower limbs,” and $890 for “upper and lower limbs with hands and feet.”

Middleman procurement businesses are companies that obtain tissue and other body parts from aborted babies and provide them to institutions or other organizations for research. Under federal law, the transportation of fetal tissue is based on a nonprofit model.

The committee’s documents, which will be used today in a House hearing on the pricing of fetal tissue, include payments made from a middleman procurement company to an abortion clinic on a monthly basis. Those dollar amounts range from $6,010 to $11,365.

Over the span of a year, one research institution paid a middleman company $42,535 to obtain 38 fetal brains, 12 fetal hearts, three fetal upper/lower limbs, five fetal livers, and 12 fetal pancreases, according to the select House panel’s documents.

The Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, as it is formally known, was created on Oct. 7, 2015, when the House passed a resolution calling for a full and complete investigation regarding the medical practices of abortion service providers and the business practices of the procurement organizations that sell fetal tissue.

In the most recent documents being released, the panel did not publicly identify companies or individuals involved in the transactions “out of an abundance of caution,” Blackburn told The Daily Signal in a phone interview prior to the hearing.

Because the documents were highly redacted, The Daily Signal was unable to independently confirm the prices of each body part.

However, the panel announced earlier this year that it was issuing subpoenas to companies and organizations that refused to cooperate with the investigation. Those groups included StemExpress, Ganogen, Biomedical Research Institute of America, the University of New Mexico, and Southwestern Women’s Options.

Democrats on the select panel have called the investigation a “witch hunt” by Blackburn and other Republicans who oppose abortion.

As The Daily Signal has previously reported, Democrats have condemned the panel’s investigators for requesting the names of doctors, medical students, researchers, and others involved in the abortion and fetal tissue procurement industries, arguing that obtaining those names could make the panel “complicit in physical assaults or murders of these people.”

But with the imminent release of the next round of evidence, Blackburn said she is hopeful Democrats “will recognize that we are taking every possible precaution and doing our best to fulfill the requirement that Congress has made of us.”

The 1993 National Institutes of Health Revitalization Act prohibits profiting from the sale of any fetal tissue. However, it is legal to provide and accept payment to cover reasonable costs for “transportation, implantation, processing, preservation, quality control, or storage of human fetal tissue.”

Among documents uncovered in the investigation is an image of a procurement company marketing itself to abortion clinics as “financially profitable.” The name of that company also was redacted.

Questions about whether abortion clinics and middleman procurement companies profit from transactions involving body parts and other fetal tissue from aborted babies were raised after a series of videos published last year. The hidden-camera videos showed officials at Planned Parenthood affiliates discussing the buying and selling of fetal tissue with a middleman company, StemExpress.

Cate Dyer, founder of StemExpress, told The New York Times in July that her company “obtained fetal tissue in accordance with the rules made by ethics boards at the institutions buying it.”

In that article, Dyer also was quoted as saying the process of obtaining fetal cells is “hard,” “expensive,” and takes “millions of dollars of equipment.”

Planned Parenthood Federation of America consistently has denied any wrongdoing and was cleared in multiple state investigations. In October, after facing questions about its fetal tissue donation practices, Planned Parenthood announced it would no longer accept any reimbursement as part of its tissue donation program.

During today’s hearing, called “The Pricing of Fetal Tissue,” Republicans were expected to call Brian Patrick Lennon, a former assistant U.S. attorney from Michigan, to testify as a witness.

In his written testimony, released in advance, Lennon argues that based on the evidence, an “ethical federal prosecutor could establish probable cause that both the abortion clinics and the procurement business violated the [federal] statute (42 U.S.C. § 289g-2), aided and abetted one another in violating the statute (18 U.S.C. § 2), and likely conspired together to violate the statute (18 U.S.C. § 371).”

Republicans also were scheduled to hear testimony from Michael Norton, a former U.S. attorney for the state of Colorado; Catherine Glenn Foster, associate scholar at the Charlotte Lozier Institute and CEO and general counsel at Sound Legal; and Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., who is pro-life, among others.

Democrats were slated to bring in Fay Clayton, a lawyer who formerly represented the Anatomical Gift Foundation, a nonprofit corporation that provided donated tissue to medical researchers.

In her prepared statement, Clayton criticizes Republicans for “using [the panel’s] subpoena power to compel testimony from health care providers and medical researchers” and for failing to subpoena David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress, the pro-life group behind the string of undercover videos targeting Planned Parenthood.

“The fact that the select panel has been using its subpoena power to compel testimony from health care providers and medical researchers—who have better things to do with their time than Mr. Daleiden does—suggests the panel is not genuinely interested in public policy at all,” Clayton says in the written statement.

Democrats also were set to hear from Robert Raben, president and founder of the Raben Group, a progressive policy group, and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., a pro-choice lawmaker.

Witnesses likely will be asked to respond to Blackburn and other panel members who, the chairman said, “believe that it is more than likely that payments to the abortion clinics and to the procurement businesses have exceeded reasonable cost.”

SHOCK: Baby Farm Discovered Where “Unwanted” Babies are Bought and Sold

Police in India made a horrific discovery this week when they raided a private hospital – an alleged baby-trafficking scheme. According to The Times of India, police rescued two babies from a private hospital in the Gwalior district of India after they discovered newborn babies born from rape or wedlock were being taken from their mothers and sold for adoption. . . .

As horrific as the case appears, the Indian hospital’s alleged treatment of babies as commodities is little different from what goes on in the abortion industry in America – except, in the India case, babies are being sold alive.

Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion group in the U.S., recently was caught trafficking aborted babies’ body parts in a series of undercover videos and lying to women about the uses for their aborted babies on its consent forms. . . .Read More

Pro-Life Feminist: It’s Time for Women to Stand Up to the Phony “War on Women” Nonsense

In the new book Feisty & Feminine: A Rallying Cry for Conservative Women, author Penny Young Nance encourages females tired of the feminist War on Women rhetoric to make their voices heard. Nance covers a range of topics, from sexual assault to anti-Semitism, from Islamic extremism to the daily Mommy challenge of balancing work and family.

In a chapter on “Abortion and the Sanctity of Life,” Nance says that nothing could have prepared her for the day her daughter Claire was born:

“Suddenly, everything I knew about love changed. I can only describe it as feeing like that scene in How the Grinch Stole Christmas: my heart grew three times its normal size.”

Nance argues that an unwanted pregnancy does not mean an unwanted child—that many women struggle with their feelings on pregnancy and parenthood. But those feelings can be vetted and effectively dealt with through the support offered by organizations such as pregnancy care centers—centers staffed by, in Nance’s words, “compassionate, caring people who are there to love you, not to judge.” . . . The Real Face of Planned Holocausthood and Pro Aborts

Straight from the "Bowels of Hell"! Disrupting a Pro Life march...

ICYMI, MRC News Busters previously reported:Cameras swarmed around abortion supporters trying to interrupt this year’s annual March for Life, but will journalists report an event that shows groups like Planned Parenthood in a bad light?

During the 2016 March for Life Friday, a few dozen pro-abortion activists staged a “die-in” by lying down outside the U.S. Supreme Court to represent women dying from back-alley abortions. It was the second year straight where radical protesters tried to halt the thousands who came to D.C. to speak for the voiceless. Last year, the group’s behavior caused arrests at the march.

The group Stop Patriarchy took credit for this year’s event. Surrounded by tens of thousands of marching pro-lifers as well as police, abortion supporters wearing white pants stained with red dye dropped down on the sidewalk.

The pro-abortion demonstration, held on the 43rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, ironically followed in the footsteps of the pro-life movement, which often organizes die-ins for the millions of babies destroyed by abortion since United States legalized abortion.
Video of the confrontation and die-in below:
While women who had endured having abortions shared stories of regret into a microphone, the pro-abortion activists tried to drown them out with a megaphone. The radical protesters couldn’t dedicate a second of respectful silence to the women in grief from losing their babies.

Mocking pro-lifers, they chanted, “pro-life, your name’s a lie, you don’t care if women die,” along with the typical slogan, “abortion on demand and without apology!” They also held up signs reading “Keep your rosaries off my ovaries” and “keep your theology out of my biology.”

Last year, eight of the group’s frenzied members were arrested by police after blocking the peaceful march. Major media outlets predictably failed to report it.

No arrests were made this year, but police held out handcuffs while facing the activists, many of whom wore Planned Parenthood and NARAL paraphernalia.

MRC Culture (MRCC) asked one woman with a Planned Parenthood sign, “When you do think a baby becomes a person?”

“I’m not sure,” she responded. “I’m positive I believe in first trimester abortions. And that is when the majority of abortions happen, and that is what I’m here to fight for.”

When asked about third trimester abortions (“Do you think a that the baby is a person then?”), the abortion supporter called abortion a “personal healthcare decision”.

“That’s not my call,” she said. “I think that’s up to the woman and her doctor.”

Another abortion supporter told MRCC, “Raising a child is not a joke. Being pregnant is not enough reason to bring a child into a world where it is not wanted. … We’re not about killing babies. We’re about freedom. We’re about the choice.”

“We’re about the continuation of life, after life already happens,” she continued. “A baby is not a fetus is not baby is not a fetus. Period.”

When asked when the baby does become a person, the woman said, “When a child is born and living outside of its mother.” The woman declined to describe the difference between a baby inside and a baby outside the womb.

A third pro-abortion woman declared, “We’re protesting for every woman’s right to be able to choose what happens with their body and to eliminate the oppression by the patriarchy and the sexist system that we life in.”

She also said she believed a fetus “becomes a baby when it’s born.”

“The baby inside, when most women get an abortion, it is not a child yet, it is a clump of cells,” she insisted. “So you can’t really say that we’re killing babies.”

Seven Decades

by Kerby Anderson: Pastor Ray Johnston has a new book out that talks about how the church has become like the culture. He illustrates this by describing the “seven decades that have changed everything.” We talked about these remarkable changes recently on Point of View

The 1950s were a time when America lost its innocence. Rock music was born. Teenagers were liberated from the parents by cars. Every home got a television set.

The 1960s were a time when America lost authority. America was on the eve of destruction with protests about civil rights and the Vietnam War. It was a decade of drug use, Woodstock, and the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr, and Robert Kennedy. The 1970s were a time when Americans lost love. It became the “me decade” after the disillusionment that took place in the 1960s.

In the 1980s, Americans lost values. As people got preoccupied with glamour, fashion, wealth, and media. The movie Wall Street may have summarized the decade with the phrase: “greed is good.” Then in the 1990s, Americans lost faith with the jarring images that occurred during that time.

The 2000s were a time when Americans lost security. It began with a concern over Y2K but moved from a scare to real fear when terrorists struck on September 11, 2001. And the 2010s seem to be a time when Americans lost hope. They weathered the Great Recession but did not believe that the future would be better than the past.

Of course, Christian faith has the answers to these challenges. We can find innocence in the forgiveness of God, love in the love of God, values in the Word of God, faith in the promises of God, and hope in God Himself.

The real question is whether we in the church will bring this message. That is why Ray Johnston titled his book, Jesus Called: He Wants His Church Back.

Loyola Marymount University Betrays Its Mission Having Pro-Abortion Bill Clinton Give Commencement

Bill Clinton denying having sex
with White House intern.
Loyola Marymount University’s choice to honor disgraced, pro-abortion former President Bill Clinton as its spring 2016 commencement speaker on May 7 is a new low in the University’s repeated betrayal of its Catholic mission. . . .

Former President Clinton is an extremely poor choice for honor and presents a very bad moral example to LMU’s students. LMU President Dr. Timothy Snyder touted Clinton in the commencement speaker announcement as “one of the great statesmen of our time.” “His commitment to improving the lives of other people, during and beyond his career in U.S. politics, embodies the ethos of becoming women and men with and for others. President Clinton will inspire our graduates as they seek to lead lives of meaning, purpose, and global impact,” Snyder continued. But President Clinton’s record is one of scandal, immorality and support for the destruction of innocent human life. And his Clinton Foundation continues to partner with and fund some of the largest organizations around the world dedicated to snuffing out babies in the womb — such as Planned Parenthood.

President Clinton was impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives for perjury and obstruction of justice. He violated his oath of marriage and disgraced his office by engaging in an adulterous, sexual relationship with a young White House intern, then sought to cover up his behavior. He worked to ensure legal abortion, permitted abortions on U.S. military bases, sought taxpayer funding for abortions, and even used his veto to protect the barbaric practice of killing babies who are partially born. Since leaving the White House, he has expressed strong support for same-sex marriage and worked to overturn marriage laws.. . . Read More
