Planned Parenthood is Going to Hate This New Pro-Life Television Ad

by Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List: As you know, we’re in the middle of the fight to strip our tax dollars – half a BILLION dollars a year – from the nation’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood.

May I take a minute to quickly go over our campaign strategy with you?

For over a month now, we’ve been running radio ads and online video & banner ads in key states to encourage grassroots pro-lifers to contact their Senators and tell them: Defund Planned Parenthood!

But today I’m excited to announce that we’re turning up the volume even more with our hard-hitting new TV ad.

Our ad is already running during Fox News’ Fox & Friends and MSNBC’s Morning Joe. You may be asking – why did you choose those shows to run this ad on? Let me share our strategy with you.

Planned Parenthood is cornered and they know it. Their brand has suffered greatly and we now have pro-life control over the White House and Congress. And they have a formidable opponent in SBA List that is working to force the public to confront the reality of Planned Parenthood’s deceptions. We will fight Planned Parenthood wherever they lie to the public – on television, on the radio, online, and in the halls of Congress.

We need 51 votes in the Senate to defund Planned Parenthood. Every lawmaker needs to know why this must be done. They sell baby body parts for profit, they aborted more than 300,000 unborn children last year, and their funding can be redistributed to the more than 13,000 real women’s health care centers that don’t commit abortions.

Right now, legislation is being drafted on the major reconciliation bill dealing with healthcare – a provision to defund Planned Parenthood is in this bill.

This month, Planned Parenthood has been airing a deceptive ad on TV featuring a woman telling a story about Planned Parenthood helping her choose life. Of course what they conveniently leave out is that they are the largest abortion business in America.

Because here’s the appalling truth: 94% of pregnant women who go to Planned Parenthood leave without their baby.

That’s why your Susan B. Anthony List team is responding. These false claims cannot go unanswered on television.

Kentucky Weighs Religion in School

by Bill Donohue: In 1965, an animated Christmas special was aired, “Charlie Brown’s Christmas.” Peanuts character Linus quoted from Luke in the New Testament, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior which is Christ the Lord. That’s what Christmas is all about.” It was widely hailed as a thoughtful and joyous statement.

Back then, virtually no one thought about registering a complaint against “Charlie Brown’s Christmas” being performed in a public school. But a half century later, activist Christmas haters now threaten lawsuits, and nervous school administrators cave in to the intimidation. That is why Kentucky lawmakers have said enough is enough.

At Christmastime 2015, a Kentucky school in Johnson County, W.R. Castle Elementary, was ordered by Superintendent Tom Salyer to excise the scene featuring Linus’ statement about the true meaning of Christmas from the school’s presentation of “Charlie Brown’s Christmas.” One person complained. That was enough to muzzle free speech.

Parents and public officials were not pleased with this act of censorship, and began to reexamine the role of religion in the schools. Two bills are now pending to rectify conditions.

The Senate bill, SB 17, is the more comprehensive of the two: it seeks to ensure the religious rights of teachers and students; it passed 31-3 and is now pending before the House. The other, HB 128, passed the House 80-14, and awaits Senate approval.

The Senate bill is in direct response to the censoring of “Charlie Brown’s Christmas.” The sponsor, Sen. Albert Robinson, would like to expand the religious and political rights of students, whether expressed in homework assignments, artwork or other modes of speech.

In addition, his bill would respect speeches given by students at a school forum: the text of their remarks could not be altered before delivering them. Religious messages on student clothing would also be covered, as would the right of students to meet outside the classroom for religious purposes. Teachers could use the Bible to teach history and the study of religion; they could also use it to discuss biblical influences on art and music.

The House bill would allow an elective social studies course on “the Hebrew Scripture, Old Testament of the Bible, the New Testament, or a combination” of the two. The bill’s sponsor, Rep. D.J. Johnson, reminds us that “The Bible is the single most impactful literary work that we have in Western civilization. It affects our culture, our values, our laws.”

That these measures are needed in 2017 is a sign of how militant the nation’s secular activists have become. All these bills would do is lock in what should be considered the uncontroversial rights of students and teachers.

A Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life report of 2007 accurately summarized these rights. The following four principles can be found in two documents: the 1995 “Religious Expression in Public School” report by the U.S. Department of Education, and its revised guidelines in 2003:
  • “Students, acting on their own, have the same right to engage in religious activity and discussion as they do to engage in comparable secular activities.
  • “Students may offer a prayer or blessing before meals in school or assemble on school grounds for religious purposes to the same extent as other students who wish to express their personal views or assemble with others.
  • “Students may not engage in religious harassment of others or compel other students to participate in religious expression, and schools may control aggressive and unwanted proselytizing.
  • “Schools may neither favor nor disfavor students or groups on the basis of their religious identities.”
Regarding the rights of teachers, while they cannot teach religion, they have every right to teach about religion. There is a difference between mandating that students believe that Jesus is the Son of God and teaching that this is what Christians believe.

The American people want to guarantee religious rights in the public schools. A Pew survey from 2006 found that 69 percent agreed that “liberals have gone too far in trying to keep religion out of the schools and the government.” In 2002, a Rasmussen poll found that 82 percent favor celebrating at least some religious holidays in school, Christmas being first among them. In 2013, a Rasmussen survey reported that a majority of Americans believe that “public schools need more religion.”

This past Christmas, a school district in Texas banned a “Charlie Brown Christmas” display because the dreaded word “Christ” was mentioned. The school board agreed. Fortunately, the censors were overruled by Bell County State District Judge Jack Jones. “Religious discrimination toward Christians has become a holiday tradition of sorts among certain groups,” he noted.

Kentucky lawmakers need to insist that the religious rights of students and teachers are respected, and the governor needs to be supportive of them. They would then be providing a great model for all states. Not to do so would be to award the censors with constitutional rights they should never have.

Peter Singer: Intellectually Disabled Person is Less Valuable Than Animals

In his apologetics for infanticide, Princeton bioethicist Peter Singer has used a baby with Down syndrome as an example of a killable infant based on utilitarian measurements. (He actually supports infanticide because babies–whether disabled or not–are, in his view, not “persons.”)

To Singer, moral value primary comes from intellectual capacities, and that means that developmentally and cognitively disabled human beings (also, the unborn and infants) have less value than other human beings, and indeed, a lower worth than some animals.

Were society to ever adopt Singer’s bigoted anti-human exceptionalism views, it would mark the end of universal human rights, opening the door to tyrannical pogroms against the most weak and vulnerable–you know, the kind of people that the Singers of the world deem resource wasters.

It would also break the spine of unconditional love, as our children would have to earn their place by possessing requisite capacities. . . . Read More

Raising Funds for Planned Parenthood is Like Raising Money to Fund a Nazi Death Camp

Christian minister Franklin Graham is not happy that Barbara Bush, the daughter of pro-life former President George W Bush, is going to headline a fundraiser for the Planned Parenthood abortion business. Graham, the son of evangelist Billy Graham and founder of Samaritan’s Purse, has been a vocal advocate for babies in the womb throughout his ministry.

Barbara Pierce Bush recently made herself known as an advocate for the abortion giant Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion causes – in stark contrast to her father’s pro-life record.

Graham likens the Planned Parenthood fundraising event for the nation’s biggest abortion company the one funding a Nazi death camp.

In a Facebook post, Graham wrote: “Planned Parenthood is the #1 abortion provider in the United States. Raising funds for this organization is like raising money to fund a Nazi death camp—like Auschwitz, except for innocent babies in their mother’s wombs! Reports say they perform over 300,000 abortions per year. And this is the organization whose employees were caught on video trying to sell baby body parts over wine. Disgusting.” . . . Read More

Leading Physician Confirms Unborn Children Feel Excruciating Pain During Abortions

Sheila Page, D.O., is board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy. She treats a wide spectrum of patients from the newborn to the elderly, including patients with irreversible and terminal illness. Dr. Page has a special interest in children with disabilities, particularly those whose burden of care is difficult and who have been given little hope for a better quality of life. . . .

The unborn child responds to sensory input as early as seven weeks (gestational age). All of the organ systems of the developing human demonstrate function simultaneously with the appearance of the anatomical structure. By 10 weeks, the human embryo has well-developed organ systems and most of the anatomy can be named with the same nomenclature that we use in adults. The brain has been growing rapidly and will continue to develop as the baby grows, moves, and experiences the sensory input of the environment surrounding it. There is no point in development in which the structure exists without function.

With respect to the nervous system, the structures responsible for pain perception are the afferent and efferent nerves and the lower brain structures, including the reticular activating system and the thalamus. There is no pain perception center in the cortex—the pain fibers all terminate in the reticular activating system, and a very small percent will connect in the thalamus to neurons that travel to the cortex for the purpose of localizing the pain. At seven weeks, the thalamus is visible. Within a few days, the entire system of pain perception expands into a completely intact structure and continues to develop into a very sophisticated part of the nervous system. . . .

I can’t begin to understand a motivating force behind insisting that pre-born children feel no pain. The arguments are often centered on a false supposition that there is a pain perception center in the cortex that is not functioning or intact until as late as 26 weeks. There is simply no evidence that this is true. Almost all of the pain fibers terminate in the reticular activating system, and a small percent connect in the thalamus to neurons that travel to the sensory motor cortex for the purpose of localizing the pain. This means that the message is delivered to its intended destination, the lower brain centers, which are responsible for the perception of pain and for alerting the whole nervous response system that damage has been inflicted.

Other arguments dismiss the fact that surgeons who care for babies in-utero during fetal surgery and other interventions use anesthesia and analgesic drugs on their tiny patients. They casually state that, in the context of abortion, the use of anesthesia would be solely for the “beneficence” of the pre-born child, and therefore would not apply. Since abortion is not a procedure that is intended to benefit the child in the first place, they have no reason to try to discern whether the victim suffers in the process. . . . Read More

VP Mike Pence Calls for Permanently Banning Taxpayer Funding of Abortions

During his speech to CPAC last night, pro-life vice president Mike Pence called for making permanent a ban on taxpayer funding of abortions. Pence also said repealing Obamacare is coming and that President Donald Trump is following through on pro-life promises he made during the election.

“Under his leadership, we are making America great again,” Pence told the crowd, adding that President Trump is “restoring the culture of life.”

“Because of President Donald Trump, life is winning in America again,” Pence added. “Last month he reinstated the Mexico City Policy and we will make the Hyde Amendment permanent.”

“President Trump is a man of his word, and we’re keeping the promises he made to the American people,” he added.

The vice president also talked about repealing Obamacare, which funds abortions. . . . Read More

Republican Senator Says She Will Oppose the Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood

A Republican U.S. Senator from Alaska plans to break from her party and vote against a bill to defund the abortion business Planned Parenthood.

The Hill reports U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, told her state’s legislature Wednesday that she will not support a bill to repeal Obamacare and defund Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business.

“I, for one, do not believe that Planned Parenthood has any place in our deliberations on the Affordable Care Act,” Murkowski said. “Taxpayer dollars should not be used to pay for abortions, but I will not vote to deny Alaskans access to the health services that Planned Parenthood provides.”

The news is not a surprise. Murkowski has defended the abortion giant Planned Parenthood numerous times. In 2011, she stood up for the abortion group’s taxpayer funding even after undercover videos showed staff at Planned Parenthood assisting alleged sex traffickers in getting abortions and STD testing for the girls they victimize.

Then in 2015, Murkowski joined two other Senators to try to strip a Planned Parenthood defunding provision from a similar Senate bill, . . . Read More

Pro-Life Trump Advisor Kellyanne Conway At CPAC

Trump campaign manager and advisor Kellyanne Conway told CPAC on Thursday that she does not identify as a classic feminist because of the movement’s pro-abortion, anti-male tendencies.

The Washington Post reports Conway appeared in an interview Thursday with Mercedes Schlapp during the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland. Schlapp asked Conway about the Women’s March on Washington, which took a decidedly pro-abortion stance, and conservative feminism.

“… it’s difficult for me to call myself a feminist in the classic sense because it seems to be very anti-male, and it certainly is very pro-abortion in this context. And I’m neither anti-male and pro-abortion,” Conway said. “There’s an individual feminism, if you will, that you make your own choices.

. . . The senior Trump advisor is pro-life. She spoke at the March for Life on Jan. 27 in Washington, D.C., along with Vice President Mike Pence.

“It is no coincidence that the first right cited in the Declaration of Independence is the right to Life. We are here to protect and promote the most precious gift in the world – the gift of life,” Conway told the pro-life crowd.

Pro-life leaders have praised Conway for her dedicated pro-life stance, saying she will be a valuable advisor on pro-life issues to the Trump administration. . . . Read More

Couple Rejects Abortion Even Though Their Baby May Die Right After Birth

Although their baby will supposedly live only a few hours after birth, one couple is rejecting abortion in favor of life. And their heartbreakingly beautiful story is going viral.

The media (yes, even the liberal media) picked up the story after Royce Young, an ESPN basketball writer in Oklahoma, applauded his 7-months pregnant wife Keri for carrying their unborn daughter to term – and, in doing so, making their baby a “miracle” for others.

As he her and their 2-year-old son left for New Orleans on a work trip, he recalled, in a Friday Facebook post, “watching my beautiful wife sleep peacefully on the couch.”

“I looked at her laying there, her belly big with our daughter kicking away, a daughter that won’t live more than a few days, and it just overwhelmed me of how incredible this woman is,” he began.

Incredible, he explained, because of her reaction when they found out their little unborn baby wasn’t going to live for much longer.

“I thought back to the moment where we found out Eva wasn’t perfect, and how literally 30 seconds after our doctor told us our baby doesn’t have a brain, somehow through full body ugly crying, Keri looked up and asked, ‘If I carry her full term, can we donate her organs?’” he continued. “In literally the worst moment of her life, finding out her baby was going to die, it took her less than a minute to think of someone else and how her selflessness could help.” . . . VA Gov. McAuliffe Vetoes Bill Defunding Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe shut down a state effort to defund the abortion business Planned Parenthood on Tuesday with his veto, WTKR reports.

McAuliffe’s veto was expected. The pro-abortion governor vetoed a similar measure last year.

“If we are going to build a new, more vibrant Virginia economy, we need to open doors to quality, affordable health care, not close them,” McAuliffe said in a statement Tuesday. “Attempts to restrict women’s access to health care will impede the goal of making Virginia the best place to live, work, and run a business.”

The governor claimed the bill would hurt tens of thousands of Virginians who rely on Planned Parenthood for health care.

Virginia House Bill 2264 passed both houses with strong support earlier this month. The legislation would cut off federal Title X funding for Planned Parenthood and any other group that does abortions, and redirect the tax dollars to community health clinics that provide more comprehensive care but don’t do abortions. . . . Liberals Trash First Lady Melania Trump for Leading Lord’s Prayer at a Rally, Call Her a “Whore”

Time to Pray for our First Lady & the President!
Introducing her husband at Saturday’s rally in Melbourne, Florida, Melania Trump began by reading the Lord’s Prayer, but while the crowd loved it, leftists on social media were not so kind.

Liberals attacked the first lady for everything from her accent and faith to the fact that she read the prayer instead of having it memorized.

“With an hour’s practice I could probably say the Lord’s Prayer better in Slovene than Melania Trump does it in English,” @adrianshort wrote.

@NicoleAngeleen tweeted: “I could recite the Our Father backwards, drugged with a gun to my head. If you need to read this prayer, you’re not Christian (re: Melania).”

“God Bless her, but listening to Melania do ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ sounds like someone getting cursed to become a ‘Dracula,’@carnojoe wrote.

“Melania starts the dictatorship rally with the Lord’s Prayer? NOT EVERY AMERICAN IS CHRISTIAN!!!! Country over party,” tweeted @JaimePrimak.

Nursing Home Resident Euthanized Against Her Will

Once you create a situation at law where killing of another person is allowed in certain circumstances, not only will the circumstances in which such killing is endorsed or allowed change over time, but the boundaries, however originally drawn, will be entirely ineffective in providing moral, legal and ethical guidance and restraint.

In Belgium and The Netherlands in the thousands of euthanasia deaths since their laws came into being in 2002 few cases have ever been referred by the review systems to justice for further scrutiny. In Belgium that number is one; one case only. …

According to a multiplicity of reports, an un-named woman–an octogenarian living in a nursing home and experiencing dementia– was euthanized against her will. She had made a comment in her advanced directive that she would like euthanasia “when I myself find it the right time.” . . .

The Dutch Law allows for a request for euthanasia in an advanced directive to be acted upon after the satisfaction of all the other qualifying criteria. The law considers such a written statement as a ‘well considered request for euthanasia’. How it can be known for certain that, at the time the request was written down, that the person understood fully the nature of their request is never explained.

Compounding the problem, the woman’s expression of intent in her directive was not clear and should not have been accepted as an advance request according to the Dutch Euthanasia Commission. She had written, concerning euthanasia, that she wanted it, “when I myself find it the right time.” . . . Read More

Washington D.C. Becomes 6th Place in the U.S. to Legalize Assisted Suicide

A Washington, D.C. law allowing doctors to prescribe their patients lethal drugs to commit suicide went into effect Saturday after U.S. Congress failed to block the measure, the Washington Times reports.

The district is the sixth area in the U.S. to legalize the deadly procedure, following Oregon, Washington state, Vermont, California and Colorado. The D.C. council passed the law at the end of 2016, despite wide-spread opposition from African Americans, people with disabilities, medical professionals, pro-lifers and religious groups.

Trump Must Act to Stop Obama Sexual Rights Plan Cloaked as Women's Policy

Susan Yoshihara, Ph.D., Managing Editor, C-Fam: The Obama administration institutionalized its gender agenda through four foreign policy initiatives—three global strategies on gender-based violence and adolescent girls, and one on women, peace and security which we report on this week.

Cloaked in the language of women's rights and non-discrimination, they have effectively transformed the Department of State and the U.S. Military into homosexual advocacy organizations, mandating that our troops and foreign service officers promote sexual rights in countries around the world, even where they are most unwelcome. Most egregiously, the plans hurt women and girls in aid-dependent countries by diverting funding and political capital away from what they really need, such as schools, health clinics, and microfinance opportunities to open small businesses.

Norma McCorvey, Jane Roe of Roe v. Wade, Passes Away: She Never Had an Abortion and Became Pro-Life

Norma McCorvey, who was the Jane Roe of the infamous Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court case legalizing virtually unlimited abortions, passed away today. McCorvey never had an abortion and eventually became pro-life and dedicated her life to overturning the horrible Supreme Court decision that bared her pseudonym.

McCorvey died today at an assisted-living facility in Katy, Texas. She was 69.

McCorvey never wanted an abortion — she was seeking a divorce from her husband — but young, pro-abortion feminist attorney Sarah Weddington used McCorvey’s case as a means of attempting to overturn Texas’ law making most abortions illegal. Weddington took the case all the way to the Supreme Court, which invalidated every pro-life state law in the nation protecting unborn children and the rest is history.

But most Americans don’t know that McCorvey, who was “pro-choice” on abortion at the time, became a pro-life advocate. She dedicated to reversing the Supreme Court case that bears her fictitious name, Jane Roe. . . .

“Back in 1973, I was a very confused twenty-one year old with one child and facing an unplanned pregnancy,” she says in the ad. “At the time I fought to obtain a legal abortion, but truth be told, I have three daughters and never had an abortion.”

“I think it’s safe to say that the entire abortion industry is based on a lie…. I am dedicated to spending the rest of my life undoing the law that bears my name,” McCorvey says. . . . Read More

France Passes Law Imposing Up To Two Years Prison For Running Pro-life Websites

The French National Assembly in session
Jeanne Smits, Paris Correspondent, Life Site News: The French National Assembly has adopted legislation to make what it calls “spreading misleading information” about abortion punishable with up to a two-year prison sentence and a fine.

The law specifically targets “electronic” and “online” means of spreading information with the intention of dissuading women from ending their pregnancy, but its wording is not restrictive. By and large, any person or group aiming to call public attention to the dangers and risks of abortion will be potentially at risk of prosecution.

Thursday’s vote was the final stage of a lawmaking process that saw various versions of the text come alternately before the Assembly and the Senate. The upper house repeatedly tried to impose less severe wording without trying to scrap the law entirely. In the absence of an agreement between the two governing bodies, the National Assembly has the last word and so it achieved its aim of virtually outlawing pro-life speech.

The law was adopted by a show of hands – an indication that few lawmakers were present in the Chamber – during which all left-wing representatives present as well as a majority of the centrists voted for the measure. It is the latest in a series of pro-abortion laws that have made “voluntary interruption of pregnancy,” as the French euphemism goes, a purely elective and 100 percent publicly-funded “fundamental right” since socialist François Hollande came into power five years ago.

The criminalization of negative information on abortion is the result of a process that began when members of Hollande’s socialist government realized that Google searches were linking women to pro-life groups. These sites explain the risks and realities of the procedure and where to find assistance to help women keep their baby.

The Ministry of Health responded by putting up a government information site on abortion that is limited to providing details about access to the procedure. It also characterizes as "misconceptions' the allegations that abortion can have negative side effects and cause health problems or psychological consequences. Included is a page on “misinformation about voluntary interruption of pregnancy” that claims there are pro-life sites masquerading as information sites. Women are urged to link to Planned Parenthood or sites that list abortion center addresses. There is no information on help and public subsidies for expectant mothers.

This initiative did not suffice to gag the pro-life sites the government wanted to relegate to insignificance. So it came up with a new law. It in effect expands an existing ban on “moral and psychological pressure searching to hinder abortion that was adopted in 2001 in order to stop peaceful pro-life activists from speaking to women planning an abortion or organizing demonstrations near abortion centers in clinics and public hospitals."

The law was rarely used, but Dr. Xavier Dor, a well-known elderly and almost blind pro-lifer, was fined heavily for having given knitted baby boots to a woman he spoke to in the public stairway of the building where Planned Parenthood has its Paris offices.

The new law imposed the same punishment – a maximum of two years imprisonment and a $30,000 fine – on any manner of “spreading or transmitting allegations or indications liable to intentionally mislead, with the purpose of deterring (from abortion), on the characteristics or medical consequences of a voluntary interruption of abortion.”

The Republican (center right) party said the law was a deliberate infringement of freedom of expression and voted against. They also intend to submit the text to the Constitutional Council in the hope of having it declared contrary to the French Constitution.

But while the party was in power, it made no move to abrogate the existing law that already bans “moral and psychological pressure” aiming to dissuade a woman from having an abortion. This has become a pattern in France over the last 40 years since abortion was made legal. All aggravating texts, once voted into law by the left, have never been disputed by the right when it came back into power.

Marisol Touraine, the minister of health, said the law exclusively targets websites that do not present themselves as being pro-life while aiming to deter women from having abortions. Laurence Rossignol, minister for women’s rights, said opponents to abortion would still be free to voice their opinion “under the condition they openly state who they are, what they do and what they want.”

However, the wording of the law does not match this restriction. As it stands, it can be used to prosecute those with any “information” that presents abortion in an unfavorable light and pushes women not to choose abortion. The law does not define who has authority to judge whether information is officially “misleading.” That will be up to judges in principle and specifically to health and government officials.

If government information on abortion is anything to go by, misinformation is likely to run rampant. It calls surgical abortion an “aspiration of the egg” and asserts that “abortion is not the removing of a life,” as Rossignol said in the National Assembly.

Jean-Marie Le Méné, president of the Fondation Lejeune, commented: “That which dissuades from abortion is not false information, but correct information.”

During the parliamentary debate, Rossignol went on record as saying: “Freedom of expression does not signify a right to lying.” That is why pro-lifers in France are slamming a law that attempts to prevent expression of an inconvenient truth.

Arkansas House Passes Bill Banning Abortions Based Solely On Baby’s Sex

Arkansas took an important first step this week to becoming the eighth state to ban abortions based solely on the sex of the baby. On Tuesday, the House voted 79-3 in favor of House Bill 1434, the Sex Discrimination by Abortion Prohibition Act.

The Associated Press ;reported, “The bottom line is it’s just the right thing to do to have this in the law,” Republican Rep. Charlie Collins told lawmakers before the vote.

The measure has now moved onto the state Senate.

The prohibition is already the law in Arizona, Kansas, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and South Dakota, according to Ingrid Duran, NRLC’s Director of State Legislation.

House Reverses Obama’s Planned Parenthood Rule!

Funding for Planned Parenthood will no longer be protected by former President Obama’s Executive Order. The House has passed the necessary legislation to put these funds under the proper control. The various States can now decide how they want to distribute these funds and not be restricted by executive edict.

Republicans passed legislation on Thursday reversing former President Barack Obama’s lame-duck ban on states withholding taxpayer funds from Planned Parenthood.

The resolution will undermine a December order from the Obama administration that prevented states from blocking taxpayer funding of abortion clinics. Bill sponsor Rep. Diane Black (R., Tenn.) said on the House floor that state lawmakers should have the final say over how taxpayer dollars for medical care are distributed in their local communities.

“We are simply voting today to affirm the right of states to fund the healthcare providers that best suit their needs, without fear of reprisal from their own federal government,” Black said in a floor speech before the vote. “As a state legislator, I worked within my authority to make sure that Tennessee honored the will of our pro-life populace and steered our state’s share of Title X dollars away from health care providers that perform abortion.”

State efforts to redirect taxpayer dollars away from abortion clinics began to gain momentum after the Center for Medical Progress released undercover video of Planned Parenthood workers and executives discussing their organ harvesting operations.

24 states introduced or passed legislation that would have denied funding to the nation’s largest abortion provider, which receives about $500 million from taxpayers each year. If the resolution passes, state lawmakers could once again deny those funds to Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood decried the resolution in a press release. President Cecile Richards said that her organization plans on using the vote to mobilize opposition to Republican…..

Congressional Bill Would Protect Doctors and Nurses Who Refuse to Assist Abortions

Leading pro-life and faith-based organizations are asking members of Congress to support new legislation that would provide healthcare providers who conscientiously object to abortions the right not to participate in the life-destroying procedure.

The bill, the Conscience Protection Act, was introduced in Congress last year and it passed the U.S. House but was not voted on in the U.S. Senate. Leading pro-life members of Congress are trying again.

The measure also protects health insurance companies that oppose abortion and would rather not cover the procedure. California is one example of a state that currently forces health insurance companies and faith-based groups to comply with elective abortion coverage, with no exemptions based on religious opposition. The Department of Health and Human Services civil rights office declared that faith based organizations in California were mandated to provide abortion coverage.

Because of that, key pro-life and faith groups want Congress to take action. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has backed the legislation, as well as the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. . . . Read More

Alveda King: Sick of Pro-Abortion Politicians Using Race-Baiting to Deceive Black Voters

Life News.com: Alveda King, the niece of Doctor Martin Luther King Jr, has released a pro-life message for Black History Month. The Civil Rights leader says she is sick and tired of pro-abortion politicians using race-baiting to deceive black voters into supporting them.

“For years liberals and progressives have skillfully appealed to the Black communities, vying for the African American vote while maintaining that abortion is good for blacks and, conversely, that those who are pro-life are somehow anti-African American,” King told LifeNews in a statement.

King says abortion funding is one way pro-abortion liberal politicians falsely use race to appeal to black voters.

“They have alleged that the Hyde Amendment, for instance, is inherently racist and that those who support it must be the same. It’s one of those race baiting charges that makes no sense,” King explains.

“For example: When Congress held a hearing last year on the Hyde Amendment and the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, Democratic Congressman Steve Cohen couldn’t resist playing the race card. He started by saying, “Controlling women’s reproductive processes has been something that men have done for years, or tried to do,” then moved on to add, ”And women since the days of slavery were very much encouraged to have children, because that was good, because you needed lots of more property to bring the crops to make the money,” she said.

“So, as the Congressman not so subtly inferred, if you don’t want your tax dollars to pay for the dismemberment of low-income mothers’ unborn children – or any unborn children for that matter – you must be like 19th century slave owners. In short, you must be a racist. Really? Twisted attempt to pervert justice,” King added.

“Think about it. Why would Congressman Cohen’s imagined “racist” want more people of color to be born? Wouldn’t a racist want there to be fewer African Americans and Latinos?” she asked.

King says Planned Parenthood continues the racist mission of Margaret Sanger.

She said: “Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, certainly would want fewer poor people around. Sanger, who happily spoke to a women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan and received invitations to speak to a dozen more, said, ‘Birth control… means the release and cultivation of the better racial elements in our society, and the gradual suppression, elimination and eventual extirpation of defective stocks – those human weeds which threaten the blooming of the finest flowers of American civilization.’”

King continued: “Mrs. Sanger was a progressive in her era and she would be a progressive today, supporting the race baiters and calling for an end to the Hyde Amendment. She wanted fewer of those she called “unfit.” She wanted what she called “a cleaner race.”

She concluded: “It’s time that we stop allowing ourselves to be divided. Those who use ethnicity, skin color, political preference, religion, income, gender, physical ability or lack of such, or any other classification to divide our communities for their own political gain ultimately do not care for us. They care for themselves and their power.”

Former Catholic Priest: Used to Pray Outside Abortion Clinics, Now Supports Abortion

No Longer a Priest
- Now Pro-Death!
Dan Murtah used to be a Catholic priest. He used to stand outside of abortion clinics in the United Kingdom and pray for women and babies with other priests and pro-lifers.

In a column for The Huffington Post this week, Murtah said he now regrets those pro-life prayers on the sidewalk. He no longer is a priest, and now believes that opposition to abortion is little more than a religious belief.

... Murtah said he now believes the government should not get involved in abortion, what he says is a religious issue. He based his position on the inaccurate claim that there is no evidence that life begins at conception, and being pro-life is merely a religious viewpoint.

“Religious belief is only that – an assumption that something is true even if scientific evidence is lacking,” Murtah wrote. “There is no evidence that life begins at conception, however because there is a lack of scientific consensus religion is inclined to plug the gap with belief.”

[EDITOR: wait a minute]

. . . Last spring, scientists at Northwestern University in Chicago further confirmed this with an interesting finding. The research team not only noted that human life begins at conception, but also video-recorded a spark of light that takes place when the new life forms.

Some abortion activists also admit that life begins at conception. These include abortion practitioners, both current and former. Curtis Boyd, a New Mexico abortionist and founding member of the National Abortion Federation, is one of them.

“Am I killing? Yes, I am. I know that,” Boyd once said.

Murtah probably should start doing some more research.

Rev. Franklin Graham Says Planned Parenthood is “Hitleristic,” and “Death Is Their Prescription”

Rev. Franklin Graham condemned the deadly work of Planned Parenthood on Friday, describing its abortion practices as “Hitleristic.”

Graham, the son of evangelist Billy Graham and founder of Samaritan’s Purse, has been a vocal advocate for babies in the womb throughout his ministry.

On Facebook on Friday, Graham addressed the current issue of defunding Planned Parenthood.

The new U.S. Congress is working on legislation to defund the abortion group, and President Donald Trump previously said he would support such a measure. The legislation would redirect tax dollars to federally-qualified community health clinics that offer more comprehensive care but don’t perform abortions.

“Planned Parenthood—the country’s largest abortion provider—received over $353 million in private donations according to a recent annual report. Why on earth would Congress give them another $550 million in government grants and reimbursements?” Graham wrote.

Planned Parenthood does approximately 320,000 abortions every year – totaling close to 1 million in the past three years, according to its own annual reports. Graham called these numbers a “tragedy.”

“Taxpayer dollars, withheld from American paychecks should never be used to fund a Hitleristic organization whose conduct many see as insidious, evil, unjust, and even criminal,” he continued. “How do they keep on slaughtering little ones, and yet portray themselves as health clinics? Death is their prescription.” . . . Read More @ LifeNews

Trump’s Order to Defund Internationa; Planned Parenthood May Close Abortion Clinics

Joseph and Daisy Pardo are hopeful U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s reinstitution of the Mexico City Policy will speed the closure of an International Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Puerto Rico.

But in the meantime, they’re celebrating the closure of two privately owned abortion businesses in early 2017, as well as an upcoming birth for a young woman with a remarkable story.

The Pardos direct the first stand-along pregnancy help center in Puerto Rico, having relocated their family of six from Tampa, Fla., in the fall of 2015. Until recently, their center, Cree Women’s Care, had been situated within just a couple hundred feet of two abortion clinics on a one-way street.

Now, just one remains. In early January, abortion practitioner Santiago Diaz abruptly shuttered both his clinic next door to Cree and his second location, which had operated directly in front of the main hospital in San Juan—and right next door to its abortion industry competitor, “Clinica Iella,” a local affiliate of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

Just three days after his inauguration, Jan. 23, President Trump reinstated a policy that keeps $100 million out of the hands of IPPF as part of the broader protection of $607.5 million in overseas funding that now cannot go toward international organizations that promote or perform abortions. . . . Pro-Family Groups to Trump: Make Religious Freedom Great Again

Family Policy Alliance: Family Policy Alliance and its alliance of 40 state-based groups is sending a letter urging President Trump to sign a religious freedom Executive Order.

The order would strengthen protections for individuals and business owners who don’t want to be forced to violate their deeply held beliefs.

“On the campaign trail, the President repeatedly told evangelical groups he would do everything he could to strengthen protections for religious freedom,” explained Paul Weber, president and CEO of Family Policy Alliance. “President Trump now has the chance to stand up to the bullying against people of faith and to lead Congress in enacting strong religious freedom protections by signing this Executive Order.”

Federally, groups like Little Sisters of the Poor were forced to sue the government for tryng to force them to provide contraceptives in their healthcare plans – a violation of the teaching of their Catholic faith.

Individuals in several states had their livelihood threatened because they refused to compromise their faith to participate in same-sex weddings.

“Our network of organizations has been advocating for policy that would ensure that families in our states do not have to forfeit their faith when they do charitable work, provide education or healthcare, earn a living, start a business, or interact with their own government,” said Autumn Leva, policy director for Family Policy Alliance. “This has been difficult in a climate of government-endorsed hostility toward religion, and American families have been told to keep their faith private. President Trump’s Executive Order would be a breath of fresh air on the state of religious freedom in this country.”

Ask President Trump to sign the religious freedom executive order. And don’t forget to share this with family and friends.

Pelosi to Adopted Student: Women Like Your Mom Must Be Able To Choose Whether To Give Birth

Pro-abortion House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi was quizzed on her abortion support by a pro-life student who was adopted at a CNN townhall. In response, Pelosi told the student that it was important that her birth mother had the ability to "choose" whether to abort or give birth to her, and went on to suggest that pro-life activists aren't concerned with the wellbeing of children after they're born.

"I am part of the pro-life generation," said college student Brianna Kristyn Roberts. "I believe that abortion is not the answer for unplanned pregnancy.

"My birthmother was faced with a decision that many women today are facing. Without the means of properly raising a child, she chose the most ethical decision and chose adoption. ... I now have the ability to thrive and succeed in life. Don’t you think that everyone … needs the ability to thrive and succeed in life?"

"I certainly do, and I love the word you used," Pelosi, who says she is Catholic, retorted. "You said, ‘my mother chose.’ My mother chose. And we want people to ... have that opportunity to choose as well."

What exactly mothers should be able to choose the California Congresswoman didn't specify. But she did imply that people who oppose abortion haven't done enough to help children. . . . Read More

Margaret Sanger Planned Parenthood Clinic Hurts 2 Women in 3 Weeks in Botched Abortions

For the second time in three weeks, an ambulance has transported a patient from the Margaret Sanger Center Planned Parenthood abortion facility in New York City.

According to a pro-life activist who snapped photos of the incident, an ambulance arrived around noon on February 4, 2017, and emergency responders entered the Planned Parenthood center. Paramedics soon returned to the ambulance for a gurney. At approximately 12:25 p.m., they emerged with a patient on the gurney with her head covered with a black cloth.

“We have studied hundreds of medical emergencies at abortion facilities, and it seems like 25 minutes is an unusually long time for paramedics to be on the scene,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “We don’t really know what happened, but one reasonable possibility is that it took the paramedics time to stabilize the patient before transporting her.”

Other medical emergencies documented by Operation Rescue at this same Planned Parenthood abortion facility include the following:

• January 18, 2017: A woman was removed from the abortion facility on a gurney and wheeled to the ambulance, passing under a large pink banner that ironically read “Healthcare happens.”
• November 4, 2016: African-American woman who was carted out of Planned Parenthood in a wheelchair, put onto a stretcher, and loaded into an awaiting ambulance.
• March 1, 2016: African-American woman was brought out of the abortion facility in a wheelchair and helped into ambulance.
• May 4, 2013: Ambulance transport woman from Margaret Sanger Center Planned Parenthood.
Cecile Richards, the CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America has stated, “The healthcare and the safety of our patients is our most important priority.”

However, the frequency of recent medical emergencies at their flag-ship New York abortion facility says otherwise. . . . Read More

Pro-Life Dr. Tom Price Sworn In As HHS Secretary

ARRA News Service: Early today, the US Senate voted 52-47 along party lines to confirm pro-life Congressman (Dr.) Tom Price for Secretary of the Health and Human Services. Price is an orthopedic surgeon.

Addressing Obamacare, Senate Budget Committee Chairman Mike Enzi said, “We’re relying on him for a lot of the confirmation on the ‘repeal,’ ‘repair’ and ‘replace.’ He’s the perfect one to do it, he’s a medical doctor that’s had a wide range of experience.”

Price has a long pro-life voting record as a member of Congress and has voted pro life 100% of the time according to the National Right to Life Committee.

In a statement about the nomination, Trump said Price has earned a reputation for being a “tireless problem solver” and “the go-to expert on healthcare policy.” “He is exceptionally qualified to shepherd our commitment to repeal and replace Obamacare and bring affordable and accessible healthcare to every American.”

Vice President Mike Pence swore in Dr. Tom Price as HHS Secretary.

New Senator Luther Strange Replacing Jeff Sessions is Pro-Life

Sen. Luther Strange
Now that pro-life Senator Jeff Sessions has been confirmed by the Senate as the new Attorney General, Alabama has replaced him with another equally pro-life senator.

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley appointed State Attorney General Luther Strange to fill Sessions’ Senate seat. The good news for the pro-life Community is that Strange is just as pro-life as sessions, it had a 100% pro-life voting record and excoriated Roe vs. Wade was one of the worst Supreme Court cases in history.

During his tenure as the Alabama Attorney General, Strange worked hard to uphold pro-life legislation taken to courts by abortion advocates.

A couple years ago, an Alabama court issued a ruling saying the state’s chemical endangerment of a child law also includes protection for unborn children. Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange issued a statement calling the decision a victory.

Strange said the court ruled that “the plain meaning of the word ‘child’ in the chemical endangerment statute includes unborn children.”

“The Court has ratified our argument that the public policy of our state is to protect life, both born and unborn,” Strange stated. “It is a tremendous victory that the Alabama Supreme Court has affirmed the value of all life, including those of unborn children whose lives are among the most vulnerable of all.” . . . Video Shows How Abortions Kill More Black People Than Every Other Cause Combined

Right to Life of Michigan created a special video project for Black History Month in February that exposes the devastating impact of abortion on the black community.

The 1-minute video uses statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and the Guttmacher Institute to show how abortions killed more African Americans than all other causes combined.

“More abortions than every other cause of death combined,” the Michigan pro-life group said in an email. “These statistics about Black abortions boggle the mind. Why are they never discussed? Why have so few Americans, especially the members of this community so profoundly impacted not been made aware of these numbers?”

The number is staggering: 19 million abortions since 1973 in the black community, according to the group’s research.
Pro-life leader Walter B. Hoye II of Issues4Life Foundation found similar results when he compared abortion data to other leading causes of death in the black community from the U.S. Statistical Abstract for 2013 and the National Vital Statistics Report from 2015.

According to the statistics:

Heart Disease: 72,010
Abortion kills 5.9 times as many Blacks as heart disease.

Malignant Neoplasms: 67,953
Abortion kills 6.3 times as many Blacks as cancer.

Cerebrovascular Disease: 16,269
Abortion kills 26.4 times as many Blacks as strokes.

Accidents (unintentional injuries): 13,413
Abortion kills 31.9 times as many Blacks as accidents of all kinds.

Diabetes Mellitus: 13,385
Abortion kills 32 times as many Blacks as diabetes. . . . Read More

Senate Confirms Pro-Life Jeff Sessions as Attorney General

Sen. Jeff Sessions
The Senate voted today to confirm pro-life Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions. The Senate approved the nomination 52-47 on a virtual party-line vote with Republicans and West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin voting to confirm and every other Democrat voting no.

The vote came after Democrats, notably pro-abortion Massachusetts Democrat Elizabeth Warren, falsely attempted to paint Sessions as racist. That was even after Sessions received an award from the NAACP a few years ago. . . .

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus. All of whom support abortion, stormed the Senate earlier in the day to protest sessions nomination

Sessions will become the first pro-life Attorney General in 8 years after Attorneys General during the Obama Administration persecuted pro-life advocates. Sessions has a 100% pro-life voting record and a history of strong opposition to abortion and the Roe Supreme Court case.

During his confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sessions reiterated his belief that Roe vs. Wade is one of the worst Supreme Court decisions of all time. Roe allowed virtually unlimited abortions throughout pregnancy.

Previously, Sessions said: “I firmly believe that Roe v. Wade and its descendants represent one of the worse, colossally erroneous Supreme Court decisions of all time. It was an activist decision…it was a Court that decided to politically impose their will.”

“Good law should prevail,” the Senator noted. “Our policies in this country as a nation should focus on life, should focus on decency, and focus on love for even the least of these.” . . . Read More

Sky Won’t Fall If Planned Parenthood Defunded

Photo of the clinics that outnumber
Planned Parenthood 20 to 1.
If you listen to the pundits who support Planned Parenthood, the sky will surely fall if the abortion chain is defunded.

If even one Planned Parenthood affiliate or center has to close as a result of defunding, they say, the patients Planned Parenthood serves will have no access to health services elsewhere. This is utter nonsense, of course.

. . . the organization’s own annual reports reveal that Planned Parenthood has been netting a profit for many years. Almost every year since 2000, Planned Parenthood’s revenue has exceeded their expenses — not by just a few dollars, but by tens of millions of dollars (yearly surpluses ranging from $18.5 million to a high of $127 million). . . . with the threat of defunding now more real under the newly elected Congress and president, Planned Parenthood has repeatedly claimed that private donations are suddenly flooding into their coffers.

The truth is that there are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) already in place, which could serve the patients Planned Parenthood serves — outnumbering Planned Parenthood centers 20 to 1 — so why do Planned Parenthood spokespersons (many who earn six-figure salaries) want you to believe that American women could not survive without them?

. . . Defunding the largest chain of abortion clinics will not send millions of patients to their demise — and Planned Parenthood knows this. The truth is that taxpayer dollars can be better spent on real health care organizations that will serve the American public and maintain the sanctity of life in the process. . . . Pennsylvania Senate Votes to Ban Brutal Dismemberment Abortions

The Pennsylvania Senate has approved a ban on the brutal practice of dismemberment abortions.

Senate Bill 3 will make it illegal to cause “the death of an unborn child by means of dismembering the unborn child and extracting the unborn child one piece at a time from the uterus through the use of clamps, grasping forceps, tongs, scissors or similar instruments.”

Currently seven states ban such abortions: Kansas, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Arkansas. . . . Read More

Senators File Legislation to Stop Obama’s Rule Forcing States to Fund Planned Parenthood

by Tony Perkins, President, Family Research Council: In his last Christmas as president, Barack Obama made sure he played Santa for at least one group: Planned Parenthood. With just weeks to go in the White House, the abortion industry’s best friend did what it could to protect the industry from an administration sure to be bad for business.

Using his power at Health and Human Services, President Obama issued a rule that not only locked down federal grants for Cecile Richards’s group through the Title X “family planning” program, but also blocked states from defunding Planned Parenthood. It was, as two women in Congress said, the ultimate parting gift to an organization so corrupt that it’s been referred for criminal prosecution by the U.S. House.

Returning that gift to sender is the goal of Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.), who’ve both introduced repeals of the eleventh-hour rule.

“State legislatures around the country have spoken out about their preference for prioritizing more comprehensive primary and preventative care providers for the receipt of Title X funding,” the duo wrote in a joint op-ed for the Washington Examiner, “and their voice should be respected by bureaucrats in the federal government.”

Obviously, the point of the rule was to strong-arm states into giving their hard-earned money to abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood. That’s not only a violation of states’ rights but of taxpayers’ trust.

“According to its 2014-2015 annual report, Planned Parenthood performed 323,999 abortion procedures in just one year. Taxpayers should not be forced to subsidize the abortion industry in this country. Nor should they be forced to foot the bill for an organization like Planned Parenthood that has displayed such blatant disregard for human life.”

They didn’t mention the fact that Planned Parenthood’s political arm spent more than $38 million in November’s election. In my view, an organization that directly receives taxpayer funding should not be able to spend money to influence the outcome of elections.

As for Obama’s parting gift to Planned Parenthood, every state should be free to decide how it spends its dollars — especially if they’re choosing positive alternatives to Cecile Richards’s “abortion-as-health-care” model. Obama’s HHS rule on Title X is an executive overreach and a handout to the abortion industry that has no basis in law.

“With a pro-life president in the White House and pro-life majorities in the House and Senate, we will continue to work together this year to undo the damage done by the Obama administration,” the women write. Help us keep President Trump busy by encouraging your members of Congress to send a bill to his desk zeroing out Planned Parenthood from Title X funding!
